Unlikely. Operator is there, the distortion likely coincides with him walking out into the open, and doing god knows what to Alex.

I would give away quite a few dear and precious possessions of mine to hear/see Tim yelling at Alex in this situation. It is interesting that the sound cuts out - in the beginning of the series, Jay theorized that audio might be missing in some of Alex's footage because it had been removed by Alex himself. I originally thought it might have been due to Operator-proximity distortion on the camera, but whether the Operator was actually there or not is somewhat ambiguous.

This is certainly an interesting alternate explanation as to why we aren't able to hear what's happening at that specific point in the footage.

No, I was thinking the same thing. Either it's completely not The Operator, it's definitely The Operator, or it's a happy coincidence that they want us to take as The Operator. I lean more toward it not being it, but I feel that the first and third options are both viable.

I think it looked like choking more than shouting. I think the only logical reason they'd shout at him is them trying to break him away from any Operator control, but considering the "DO I HELP OR DO I KILL?" message from Inquiry...

I was actually thinking of this from another perspective, What if it isn't ToTheArk asking if he should help or kill..

What if ToTheArk is taunting Jay... To say, "DO I HELP ALEX, OR DO I KILL ALEX IN THE LAST 7 MONTHS?"
Or maybe just "DO I HELP YOU OR DO I KILL SOMEONE IN THE TIME YOU WERE BLACKED OUT?"

If that's the case, ToTheArk just got one hell of a lot more scary Shocked

Just going by the past two videos, TTA seems capable of typing coherent words. It just wouldn't surprise me if that is what it is, but as usual, just a theory Very Happy

 		At about 2.24 on the vid (between Alex getting tackled, (we assume), and the shot of him on the floor with hoody crouched next to him) there's some random flickers, one of which doesn't really seem like it belongs in this vid - anyone here handy with video editing software? any chance of a still?

Just went over it frame by frame and there are moments that the camera just cuts to black for a flash of a second. Maybe that's what you were seeing?

However, I might have caught a glimpse of our tackler!
When Alex goes down, he falls and rolls. The camera is pointed at the sky for a moment and you see a figure running away. However it's impossible to determine who it is + It's hard to show because you have to see the consecutive frames. Could even by Tim if you believe there were only 2 people.

(Might not be the full proof but at least it kind of shows that fabric can change tone due to night vision)

 		Okay, so I read through the first like 26 pages and will just post my thoughts on the video and some of the theories. Will ask you to pardon any small typos as my mind and fingers go at different speeds.

1. Alex didn't leave and then come back for his camera. He had another camera in his hand.

2. I believe the one that lured him out was hoody. The shade of black combined with the material might not make the black on the mask stand out as much as te black on Masky's mask. I also beleive that it was two people and maybe people are overanalyzing the sound of the footsteps. It could've been the actor getting in place for all we know.

3. If the Maskies are SO scared of TO then why did they lead Alex into the woods when they should know that the woods are affiliated with him? I know they probably didn't ambush him in the house because it was a known environment but wasn't there another place that he could be ambushed? And secondly, why is Alex willingly walking in there as well after he screamed at Jay for doing the same? Slendy!Trance? Or just hypocritical?

4. What if the Maskies DO work for TO, but Tim went after Alex anyway for revenge? Maybe that's why they ran, because if they knew that if they were caught by TO then it'd result in a big TO.

4.5 - BTW, it's Tim, y'all. He's got the sideburns and the limp. I can't believe that this is still being debated.

5. How happy is everyone else that the last couple or so entries are darkly lit? MH was at it's best when you couldn't see past the small amount of light that you did have and anything could be in the shadows. The bright day entries have really taken away a bit of the creepiness for me and I hope that they go back to what made it work in the first place.

6. What happened between Alex and Tim to make them hate each other THIS much? Was this rivalry going on when Jay was interviewing Tim?

6.5. You know, I belive Tim talked about Brian having dead animals showing up in his yard. (I believe it was Brian, but I could be wrong) and in Entry 2 Alex mentions having a dog that he never brings up again.

7. Where do Alex and Jay get the money for these motel rooms/apartments/houses/gas?

It's a bit small, but it definitely looks like a dark colored mask. Definitely Hoody. Nice screencap!
