OKAY - WHOA. If you thought the last one was scary, listen to this:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
There's a bloody corridor that I found (I unfortunately had to resort to noclip) and through following it, you fall down a shaft. Things turn colorful rather than black and white, and your half submerged in water. Bloody water. It's super dark and there's only 2 ways to go. One is a dead end. Soon, things start shaking and ALL OF THE SUDDEN a damn armless freaky thing is chasing me! It was like Amnesia. After hauling ass as best I could, I found another dead end, but this time it was a lit up shaft with a ladder. I couldn't get farther than this, and you might have to play it in Half Life to make it work properly. The monster couldn't hurt me and I couldn't do anything at the dead end.

If you have any sort of microphone (which I'm assuming you don't since you said you can't record), there is a Morse decoder program that will listen and translate in real-time.

Wish I could play the map myself...HL2 is one of the few Valve games I don't have on my PC.

Right, but I meant... like, in-screen recording as I play. Unless there's something free (and EASY to use). I have a mic, but that's just audio (which would be fine if the radio was the ONLY thing to find). If nobody else posts stuff soon (which I doubt), I will do what I can.

EDIT -

Back with pictures. I captured most of the important parts. I assumed the radio was important, but it may not be anything given what was discovered AFTER that. Razz Might not even be morse at all - just white noise.

I filtered it so that all of the pictures there on the side bar are the ones you want to see. Read the captions if you want more info. Enjoy. Wink

I recommend someone tries this in Episode 2. Maybe there's some script stuff that can only happen in that game.

Is it maybe that one:

This one is labeled as Number 4. The general appearance looks similar, but they're different maps.

Anyway, I played it in Episode 2 (and yes, there's video of it around YouTube now), and the only differences between it and Gmod are:

- No weapons
- You move REALLY slow
- When the monster touches you, you're taken back to the menu.

I figured that if you reached the "escape" portion of the last floor with the ladder while playing Episode 2, something would happen. But no, the monster is supposed to get you.

One other thing - the monster is actually referenced in a foundonthetape video. At the 0:15 mark of 095, it's pretty much the exact same... creature?

I really enjoy the idea and how they're going about using HL2 maps as a storytelling vehicle. However, they should have planned the designs of the levels better, because they're boring narrow corridors with no details. I'm not trying to say they should have professional quality level design, but I wish there was more variation outside of the DOOM corridor maze, or a dark room that uses HL2 tile textures.

I'm not trying to diss the ARG, but I never want to play these levels for myself because it'll ruin my personal enjoyment.

After the 10 candidates were chosen for FOTT, I fell out of the loop. Has this ARG sung its swan song or is it still active?

I *really* wish that this wasn't the answer, but it appears to have died. Months of absolutely nothing. Such a shame, I was enjoying the hell out of it.
