What is it about the Operator that really freaks you out?

The fact that there is so little about him that's known. He is always seen simply standing, walking, observing, etc. Never anything very hostile. But that's the unsettling thing I guess. You wonder what it is he *does* to people when he teleports them away.

Well he doesn't really freak me out as much anymore, but when I first started watching marble hornets it was like the thing that this guy is pretty much standing in the shadows everywhere, he could be on my porch/in my basement right now and i wouldn't know and it was terrifying to see little glimpses of him everywhere.

the thing that always has sort of creeped me out about him is the lack of face. its just really weird to think about

What I always found frightening about the Operator was the fact that it was an anomaly that couldn't be explained, and that it harmed people in ways that we could not percieve. A faceless man with long, lanky arms, a perversion of humanity, that clearly shouldn't be able to exist, but does. You don't know why it's there, or what it's capable of, you just know that it's wrong, that it shouldn't be there, and that it's turning people against each other.

The main thing for me is his uneasiness.. He just pretty much stands there without making any sound, watching you. And suddenly you will notice him but it will already be too late by then.

the fact that he emits gas / cold air and has some element inside of him that causes camera distortion similar to a magnet

In terms of the MH videos, the fact that, early on, you never really got a good look at TO was disconcerting. You knew he was freaky and unnatural, but you were never given the time to focus on him. Not really knowing what the threat was was kind of the scariest part, that lack of knowledge.

But now I just think he's cute.

The thing about the Operator that really freaks me out? His ability to mimic and distort people's voices that he hears.

The scariest thing about him is the fact that he could force me to star in my very own hentai.....

What's scary is the unknown. He doesn't speak and his motivations are almost completely unknown; most of all, we don't fully comprehend the effects he has on people. He just sits there and watches you until you go completely insane. Nobody likes the feeling of being watched, and the Operator is somewhat of a physical manifestation of what paranoia is. That's scary.


Another thing is something that I read somewhere on this forum before. I'm paraphrasing, so bear with me. But his actions resemble the likes of a little kid holding a magnifying glass on little ants for no other reason other than his own amusement.

Worst of all, we can't do anything to stop it. We're nothing but ants.
