So Serah wants to learn more about the creature. Smart girl (and tough). Nailing down similarities and differences might help us figure some things out or form some theories. I've been listing parallels in the two cases we know about--Jack & Serah--along with the point of introduction for each--Jack's neighbor & Serah's dad. I'll refer to the latter as the Original Sources. Please do add to/correct these lists.   
 
Known Original Source Parallels: 
- Visited Japan
- Lived in USA  
- were male 
- were adults 
- had pre-existing relationships with the victims  
- lived in close physical proximity to the victims
- were traveling for work

Possible Original Source Parallels: (S for confirmed Serah facts; J for Jack)
- Visited Aokigahara (strongly implied; not confirmed)
- Took pictures there (strongly implied; not confirmed) 
- Traveled often for work (S)
- Still alive (J - We haven't heard anything about Serah's parents dying, only that she set fire to the house)    

Known Victim Parallels: 
- under 18 years old
- over 11 years old
- Lived near trees
- Lived in USA 
- Stalked by the creature...
- ...For an unspecified time frame, but immediately before a birthday
- Captured and entranced the day before a birthday
- A birthday between the ages of 13-17
- Burned their houses down
- Awoke in Aokigahara     

Possible Victim Parallels:
- Single children; no known siblings, or at least, none living in the same home (J)
- Parents were married and still together (J)
- Parents killed in house fires (J) 
- Stalked for approximately one month (S) 
- The stalking began soon after seeing Aokigahara pics (J)  
- Lived near a wooded area [i.e. a lot of trees] 
- 19 letters in their full names (S) 
- Awoke in Aokigahara on their birthdays (S)

It's worth noting that they both seem quite well-spoken, intellegent, and brave.        

Known Victim Differences:
- Age
- Gender
- Lived in different states and time zones (and climates?)
- Serah was cornered and burned her house down on the same day--the day before her birthday. She awoke in Aokigahara the following day, on her birthday.  
- Jack was also cornered the day before his birthday (June 16).* But he didn't burn his house down until the next day, which was his birthday (July 17). He also disappeared that day. We don't know specifically when he was taken to Aokigahara, but if he was immediately transported to Aokigahara after disappearing, he probably awoke there on his birthday.   

[*This is assuming that the events of June were shifted forward exactly 2 months for the blog. The creature blogged that Jack's birthday was August 17. According to the newspaper, Jack burned down his house June 17. I could be off though; damn that timey-wimey stuff.] 

A lot of these are probably coincidental, but I listed everything I could think of. The real question is, are any of these parallels actually required for the creature to abduct a kid, or just preferences? Is the creature still gathering other kids? And if certain things have to line up just so, then why would we be in danger?

Well apparently Slendy is aware of Jack and Serah,and somehow learned Base64,as punxtr translated the message as 'You will not escape. The cycle will not be broken.'

I immediately thought of Cryptonomicon when I saw that code string. I've asked if there was anything associated with the message that could function as a key. I'm going to maybe try some obvious references (Black 13, etc.) so we'll see what happens.

Edit: Man, those zeroes. They're freakin' me out, man. I suppose that means the code isn't done the way I was hoping, 'cause you don't get zeroes with that method.


Edit the Second: Son of Edit: I can't help but think that 19 has to be involved somehow. I've tried adding, subtracting, shifting all the letters forward by 19...
