[META] What questions would you want to ask the developers?
Some new information and questions about the campaign. Not in game questions.

So we were in the irc when I had an idea which led to this thread.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/5_%28gum%29

So 5 gum was created/distributed to the U.S. in March 2007.

http://who.is/domain_archive-com/survivalcode.com/

The who.is info shows that the survivalcode.com site was created in March 2007 as well.

Wrigley stopped creating new gum after 2001, ending with orbit. Six years later out of the blue they come up with 5 gum.

It shows that someone had a concept or an idea for this arg back then. If my theory is right, 5 gum was created specifically for this reason alone and that 5 gum is financial backing for the whole arg.

It looks like all their commercials have the testsubjectsneeded flicker. If someone could verify this, it would be great.

This thread is for post-campaign questions if we ever get contacted by the developers.

So my starting question is...

Did 42E or someone come to Wrigley with an idea for an arg, a whole new line of gum, and 4 years worth of ideas and planning?

Put your questions in here and maybe... when this whole thing is done we'll get answers or something. No questions about my hat.

So could this be the one

I've never participated in an A.R.G. before but I'm loving it.
My question would be...

How long was this project actually in development and when was the first concept thrown out on the table?

I wonder what it was like working with Terry O'Quinn? Did someone from 42E approach him for the gig or did he have an agent set it up? Did they get him in a studio and record all of his work in one day or was it spaced out as they needed him? Sorry, big Mr. O'Quinn fan.

What were some of the challenges creating an arg campaign around gum? How much input and/or changes did Wrigley's suggest during it's creation?

Since this is a wishlist of questions, I would ask Terry what his favorite flavor of 5 gum is. He looks like a Solstice or Swerve guy.

If Terry doesn't have one, he could get one at the drop of a...er...hat.

What? Is that even possible? React (fruit) is my favorite gum ever, could they have been playing me this long? Someone did say (somewhere) this was an old idea of theirs, and they're glad to see it made, but I can't back up that quote.

Neat theory about the gum specifically being made for the ARG. I don't know if it can be a coincidence, but it doesn't help that Wrigley has other gum brands (hence why make another one).

Depending on the outcome this may be obvious (please oh please be Halo-something or Assassin's Creed related), but why target E3 and Bonnaroo attendees? I don't know if any marketing of the ARG was done at Comic Con and if not why not there? It would've been a hit at SDCC this year since I've been told this year's con was "meh" compared to others.

Don't remember who asked this in the irc but...

Did the developers create the dot puzzle during the countdown right there and then and why the screw up?

I do question a few parts of this, such as why the story is so slow to be revealed for a universe that isn't established. Of course this could be well planned and we are still only supposed to be touching the surface and getting a taste of what is going on, but so far there seems to be little sense of purpose in what we are doing. So far it is pure exploration, which is very fun but it's not very driving or suspenseful. It's hard to get others involved in a story that's not there. >_>

Haven't some of the ARG's taken almost a full year to endgame since they started sometimes?

The con this year was meh. I was really hoping for something more with regards to this arg. The only presence of TSN were ladies handing out black envelopes that lead to the TSN web site. I would ask the devs why skip sdcc? Espically since they could have been the buzz of con. After the flynn lives campaign I have high expectations.
