I'm pretty sure I read a mod post recently that said it's against their policy to delete threads with any replies.

My guess is that the keyword "phone" gets triggered here a lot because we say things like, "Why didn't Jay answer his phone?" and "Why did Alex throw his phone like a little baby when Jay didn't answer?".
