the internet: we've repeatedly heard that you could win without having to go online. they wouldn't provide a clue in which you would have to go online.

the rules: The rules state that there would be a clue every episode and the revised rules repeat that and add that the final episode would provide the 6 missed clues. Further on in the rules, they state that the final episode would direct us to the where & when of the final clue. So, that says, to me, that the where & when is seperate from the episode clue. Still following me? If that's the case, then the clue would not be a website that gives us the where & when of the final clue (especially when they announce it at the end of the episode).

You didn't have to go to the internet. the only new thing you got from the site was a picture of an suv with the words "www.toyota18.com" underneath it.

Yes, the "when and where" were posted on the toyota18 website, but I also saw it at the end of the episode. So if I hadn't had access to the website, I would still have the "when and where" for the final clue.

and the fact that they gave 3 hints for toyota18.com (on the boxes, on the books, and on the carson city intranet) tells me that it looks exactly like the other Clue's we've been given.

dmvf, pushtimes, and enochonline have been hinted in episodes, but never 3 times in the same episode.

they give 3 hint's for "heart" as well.

1) mary's window looking over to Jim's room at Martha's Boarding House
2) on Jim's house
3) grace shooting out the heart at the shooting range

so your "three hints" theory, while fitting, doesn't 'prove' that it's the clue. also, they state that there would be a clue and that they would give us the final when/where during the last episode in the rules. that's 2 different things.

am i just being stubborn?

It seems to me that if the game is engineered for people with no 'net access to be able to play and win, then they'd have to assume that some of those people won't even recognize or be able to put together a web address - in which case they wouldn't be able to figure out last night's clue if it is indeed www.toyota18.com, not to mention they would have zero idea what a "domain" is.

I'm still leaning towards something to do with balloons or rainbows. There were a hell of a lot of colorful things in last night's episode: the balloons and party decorations at the IRS, some thing on Jim's desk, the teapot on the stove at Jim's house when he comes home the first night... I'm definitely gonna be watching that episode again this weekend.

jim's domain

hey, to go along with the whole heart theory.did everyone notice that hearts were shown all thru the rest of the episodes also.lots & lots of hearts in this show.and also queens,kings,jacks(j's),a's,7's,m's,s's,c's & in this last episode circles(jim/mary danced in circles for awhile),flower or leaves, waffles ,water, toy(toyota),dummy, & the color green.
so what does all this tell us about the show????????
if it's just a phone # to be the fastest to call then why all the repeated hints???and what does the last 6 given clues tie in with all the rest???????
i must be nuts but from the beginning of this episode i have been thinking pinnocchio for something( Idea )(get it toy/dummy,along with all the other disney references),but i don't know i think i must be the dummy!!!!!!!!
somebody help to sanity!!!

What about IRS as Jim's domain. Or maybe his new title.

Jims Domain

I sort of thought IRS as jim's domain as well.

Something related to where he is comfortable or where he 'rules'. Sort of along the line of 'master of his domain'

Just a thought

The biggest reason I think it's www.toyota18.com is the lack of subtlety in providing the hints. They've not make any of the hints hard, so I can't see why the obvious answer isn't the correct answer.

I wish they hadn't deviated from giving the clue in the opening credits though. That is one deviation from their pattern.

when i first saw the title, I thought that as well. However, it's almost too obvious. Perhaps breaking down the other clues will help us figure it out and maybe help us come up for a direction for the ultimate solve. I really hope that it's not a matter of having to just list the clues into the phone!

the amount/$1,045,000
title of the show indicates the amount we are looking for
episode clues include, but aren't limited to:
- the room number
- Regis saying the number
- the fax balance
- web clue: dmvf.com was shown in the opening credits and it stated the amount

the black box/ television
title of the show either refers to TVs, or to the the little black boxes on top of the tvs that they used to monitor people with, though if you didn't download the book, you might not have gotten that
episode hints include, but aren't limited to:
- the prominant display of televisions in the episode
- Sunny Dupree saying "television is the word"
- the plaque next to the black box on top of a tv that says 'television'
- dmvf says 'television' and links to Sunny Dupree's article

the color of.../ orange
title tells us we're supposed to be looking for a color, any other meaning?
episode hints include, but aren't limited to:
- the oranges in the microfiche
- the guy saying orange is the answer in spanish
- people drinking orange juice
- WDM drinking orange water
- the guy at the bar eating oranges

storybook hero/peter pan
title tells us that we're looking for a story book hero, any additional meaning?
episode hints include, but aren't limited to:
- peter pan in the opening credits
- music box at shadrach's
- the lawyer named "Pete Pantip"
- tixiv ter
- Dagmar & Teddy talking about peter pan
- the crock & clock and Sloman's

letter of the law/g
we're looking for a letter, dawn's identity of a treasury agent is revealed...thus a different legal status?, any additional meaning?
episode hints include, but aren't limited to:
- G graffiti on the phone booth
- G monogram on grace's organizer
- 'G'reed missing from the opening credits with the seven sins
- G on the guy's name tag

S.O.S./morse code
Title refers to Jim sending out a message for help and leads us to believe that we're looking for a common way of sending for help...morse code.
episode hints include, but aren't limited to:
- morse code in the opening credits (confirmed previous clues and title was written as ... --- ...
- the trash shadrach picked up spelled morse code
- the shopping cart sounded out morse code (??, heard this, but i didn't hear it myself in the epi.)
- the board at shadrachs had morse kode written in morse code

Jim's Domain
title refers to his return to Carson City, his true domain? His promotion at work, where he's now master of his domain? His changes at home, his personal domain?
episode hints include, but aren't limited to:
www.toyota18.com / toyota18.com is a domain name (not the www)
-listed on the boxes
-listed on the binders
-on the computer

heart / shown at Jim's domain, next to a way to view Jim's domain, not sure about the grace clue though
-in mary's window
-on jim's house
-grace shot out the heart at the range

others?!?!?

additional clues are:
Five
Longitude
Underwear
Southeast
Bodnick
Eliot

Derek Cecil said "in order"...does that mean something?

ok, wow, lot's of info! let's discuss Smile

Admittedly, I haven't watched the episode yet, but here's my take on it. Let's look at the list in total:
$1,045,000
television
orange
peter pan
g
morse code
heart/www.toyota18.com
Five
Longitude
Underwear
Southeast
Bodnick
Eliot

Which one makes more sense in context with the list? I think heart does. It's a common word. I think the toyota stuff was plain old red-blooded American advertising. To get the people who were watching and had access to the internet to visit the site and look at the pretty SUV...(frankly, I thought the helicopters were cooler). None of the other clues suggest an action to be taken by anyone...they're simply stagnant clues.

episode 7 clue

On the Toyota site the picture was torn up and we had to put it together like a puzzle....could that have something to do with the clue?

ALso did any one catch any song references?
"Delta Dawn"--Tanya Tucker/Helen Reddy
"Synchronicity"--The Police
Jim was told "I hope you find what you're looking for" when he left Push.
"Still havent foun what I'm Looking For"--U2

All three of those songs have to do with relationships...maybe that some how ties in to the heart theme.

Re: episode 7 clue: Jim's Domain

For the sake of argument, I'm going to throw a couple more things out there.

imbri wrote:
JIM'S domain: it doesn't say toyota's domain! what does Jim have to do with toyota, NOTHING! That doesn't really matter though, in the scheme of things, but it's something.
Jim did, however, log into an account with toyota18.com as the address, and Myrna was on the site as well. Seems that it could be something akin to his domain at the IRS.

imbri wrote:

the internet: we've repeatedly heard that you could win without having to go online. they wouldn't provide a clue in which you would have to go online.
You do not, however, necessarily have to go online. If the clue isn't www.toyota18.com, but is, rather, toyota18 or just 18 or some such, then internet access isn't part of the clue.

imbri wrote:

it's dumb!: what sort of clue is www.toyota18.com?!?! It makes no sense. Though, what sort of clue is "G" or "Peter Pan".
While www.toyota18.com doesn't make sense as being a clue, 'Toyota' and '18' make as much sense as 'Peter Pan' and 'G' do (respectively).

In any case, we should keep a couple ideas in the back of our heads because it will (hopefully) make sense once we get the final clue on Monday.

I looked at this differently. I figured the title of the final episode was changed from "the Oracle" to "Jim's Domain" after the cancellation of the show. So that the first clue given on the list, FIVE, would correspond to what would have been the seventh episode.
Hints to the clue:(several uses of the Roman numeral V)
the V logos outside the Versailles;
on Jim's desk, pencils in pencil holder were positioned in a V;
there's a partial sign behind Ira, when he and Jim are eating, which has the letters "CLE" (possibly missing a U) and "V".
(Btw, did anyone notice the hearing aid in Ira's right ear?);
Grace shoots five times at the heart of the target;
hearts have a V on the bottom.

Five senses.
References to blind & deaf:
from the guy on TV.
Ira's hearing aid,
Martha seems to use sign language for love with her fist to her heart.

ok, so aren't oracles known for a sixth sense?

Very Happy Laughing
There must have been certain promises made to the sponsers by the producers. And think of how many times, commercials would not be seen with the cancellation of the show.

Brooke, I think you're great! and if this V theory helps, I'm gatitfied.

Forgive me if this post belongs somewhere else. Maybe I should start a thread "Guest Fans of the Unfiction Intellect" Wink

New thought on the toyota18.com controversy

Although I believe the clue is more likely to be V, or heart, or even Oracle, since toyota18.com was displayed multiple times, it should at least be considered.

But everyone has focused on the domain name so far. I haven't seen anyone comment much on the site itself (other than it says to watch Monday Night Football).

Did you put the picture together? Do you recognize the car in the picture? I believe it is the new 2003 "4Runner".

Perhaps the clue is 4Runner and perhaps other clues to this exist in the episode (so non-net players could figure it out).

Also in the picture, it looks like the helicopters from last night's episode appear in the background.

Just my 2 cents. Smile
