Ok, this might be the lack of sleep talking, but hear me out.

After the latest tweet, "In case something happens to me", I started think: what if Jay dies? Maybe that's how they'll end season 2, and season 3 will be someone else going through Jay's tapes and actually figuring things out?

Going through his tapes of changing locations, sleeping and watching videos? Yep. Lot to go through there.

As far as we're concerned, nothing important has happened to Jay yet in real time, and besides I would expect the ENDING of the damn thing to be mostly in real time.

Definitely gonna agree with Randoman here. As interesting as it would be to have our lovably daft protagonist bite the dust at the end of this season, it makes no sense narratively to take the protagonist and kill him off, especially (as RM points out) when not much is happening to him in real time as he goes through these tapes. What would anyone have left to look at that would progress the story to its end? Edit: Wrote the wrong name here... Troy is a film major, and one important part of filmmaking in the narrative form is to have a story arc. Killing the protagonist 2/3 into the story is kind of a huge no-no if you want a decent story.

Another thing to keep in mind here too...

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Season 2 was supposed to be the final season, but the series was extended because they wanted to give their planned ending to it the respect and time it deserves. Of course, they could still have planned to kill Jay at some point, but I can't logically see them killing Jay right before the finale, so killing him now would kill the series' momentum even more.

I too had the feeling that Jay would die, after reading the tweet.
will he die in Entry 50? meh.. but maybe somewhere down the line, in S3..

or as the person who suggested LOST..
maybe they all end up meeting at an undisclosed church.. where Brian,Seth,Amy, ToTheWoods, Jessica, white tshirt guy, Tim, Hoody, etc are all there..
and The Operator is the priest.
and we find out that the world was destroyed (around entry#1)
and now The Operator is using the above mentioned ppl in a military top secret project held in outterspace, where they perform Source Code-like experiments with the living cells in jays brain to go back to INTRO and save the cheerleader, save the world.

or not

Pics or it didn't happen. I'm inclined not to believe you until I actually see proof from Troy that this is the finale.

Although I won't be surprised that this will be the season finale (I'm hoping for just 2 more actually), pics or it didn't happen

He said we'd know when it was the season finale, so I'm not going to say either way until I see it.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
If it is though, I've got my money ready for a season two DVD

If last night's video was the season finale, then I feel a little cheated. This video was pretty terrifying, yes, but it only nudged the story forward a little. Last season's finale shoved the story straight out the window and watched it take flight.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Finding out that Alex is a murderer who's luring people to Slendy is something I've suspected since around Entry 37. It doesn't give me the rush of the unexpected twist like last season did.

The main setting of Season 2 is "the 7 months." It would be incredibly dumb to end the season without bringing closure to this time period. There's likely another 1-3 entries before the 7 months come to a close, and hopefully one more entry set in the present time, which will be the finale.

I'm gonna take a couple more shots in the dark regarding Season finale. They're all stupid predictions to some extent, but it's all I can honestly think of:

- Alex is still alive, and he sends Jay a video of him murdering someone personally connected to Jay. (This is quite a stretch given we know very few, if any, of Jay's friends and family, but it would be undoubtedly shocking, and could give Jay the motivation he needs to finish the job in the final season.)

- Jay shaves his head or grows a beard, for no real reason other than to highlight the fact that our protagonist has changed since fleeing the hotel many months ago. It would be one of those "oh snap!" moments, albeit a totally meaningless one.

- The maskies kidnap Jay when he's recording the final entry, and the video ends in the usual, cryptic Totheark style. Also, since I THINK Marblehornets is a Youtube partner, they'll start using banners (above the channel page and ontop of videos) which will consist of fuzzy, corrupt-looking images. That would just look really cool.

If "we'll know" when it's the season finale, presumably something will happen that will give an in-game reason for the break period. I.e. the seven months between season 1 and season 2 have been full of activity, and all of season 2 has been trying to piece together what went on during that time. So, Jay will have to go do/find something that will require him to not be at his computer for a while, and HOPEFULLY won't lose his damned memory this time so we won't need to spend the 3rd season in the past too. Don't get me wrong, I like season 2's style of investigating and trying to figure out what Jay's forgotten, but eventually we need to be in the present.

Since Entry #49 changed the rules. Hard. I think the finale will be either:
+ What happens between 38 and 29, and then an "extended" version of 29. Alex tries to kill J, but fails because of (insert Deus Ex Machina here) and either dies or goes missing. If he goes missing, I think he would be looking to kill J.
+ J finds Jessica in present time, who has an essential clue to whatever the hell is going on. With a healthy dose of Operator/Maskies attack.
+ Alex´s secret tape. I really dont know what to expect of this, besides the first point I mentioned.
+ Someone dies. My first bet would be Alex, Amy, one of the "T(Ta)wins", or, even J. If J would die, I imagine Jessica (if she´s still alive) would take up the investigation.

Just brainstorming here. Anyways, I know the Finale will be EPIC.
