Anyone considered the possibility that those two lines are part of the same cipher? I mean, there's an empty line between the first code and the second line, but none between the second and third, plus, they're both in teletype.

There are 2 spaces between the first and second 2 two and one between the last two. Yea I figured they were connected. Ive never heard of a teletype code.. Ive heard of a teletype machine.

By teletype I mean the font (looks like typewriter font), and there isn't really a blank line between them, try highlighting, the post is just double-spaced.

Anyone having any luck on the bottom two codes? Its not a rot. And it wont substitute out either. In both codes there are some single letters. And alot of letters that there are no more than 2 of each ...So useing the frequancy of letters won't work.
Lurker here. What you describe sounds like Vignere keyed cipher. (Maybe I shouldn't jump into a game just to solve puzzles, but sometimes I cannot resist.) If you ever want help, just paste the code into the forum or link to it. I know it's easy to just say "new blog post" and assume the active players know where to look. I looked on http://themythofobjects.wordpress.com/ but I only see a cipher on the August 31 entry and it has no single letters. Is that it?

Thats the one. I tryed to use the word "protagonist" as the Key. But that didnt work, then ella toller, then Sophia Sumer ... They didnt work either. Im kinda rusty at solving puzzles. So I didn't recognize it was Vigenere. I figure the solve has some thing to do with the other riddle solve which was
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
rot 13 protagonist

Well, I tried using the other quote from the blog: "I can see your sadness.
It's lovely" but it didn't work either.

Vigenere was only a guess by me, don't narrow your attempts to solve it based on that. The amount of text is so small that frequency analysis is useless, and my automated tool couldn't find any possible keys. If it is another type of keyed cipher, then it makes sense that the first word (solved) is a hint to the key. I tried brute-forcing assorted decipherings but came up empty, sorry.

Ok, no one seems to have said anything about these, so I'll post them:
First, on the Twitter:
Quote:
@ellatolar: A hint for the last Twitter puzzle: Google is your friend...
@ellatolar: New chapter by the end of the week!
Then, new blog post:
Quote:
William Barry
I've decided to find Billy. I haven't seen or talked to him since Melina was murdered, but after speaking to Sean Whitten I realized that I never really heard his side of the story. We all assumed he was guilty, but the police ended up letting him go for lack of evidence. I don't really know his side of the story and I'd love to ask him what happened. Of course, nobody I know has any idea what happened to them, but then I remembered that when he and his mother moved away that his aunt took over their house. I called a few friends until I tracked down his old phone number, and hoping it was still the same I called and left a message for his aunt to call me back. We'll see what happens.
Any ideas on the Twitter puzzle or the cypher in the last post?

Hi everyone, I've been lurking for the last couple of days and decided to try my hands at an ARG again. I haven't in years.
Anywho, in her latest blog post:
Quote:
Billy's aunt called me back, and it wasn't pretty. She said, "If you don't stay away from Billy, you'll be in a heap of trouble." Of course, I'm not one to cower over empty threats, so I simply asked her to give a message to Billy's mom. I told her I was an old friend, and interested in talking to Billy, and that he had nothing to fear from me.
A few days later I got another note on my windshield. It said:
the anniversary
bunkchbnmjpdibwtdjoom
I think this may be a clue to help me find Billy.
She mentions something about the anniversary. I thought it might be about Melina's death but there is no actual date. But then I noticed that it was posted on September 11th, so it might have to do with Nine Eleven. I've tried all those for keys but no luck so far, I thought writing this might jog someone else's brain for clues.
Edit: Anyone having any luck with the Twitter riddle? Even typing it into Google doesn't bring up anything that stands out. I feel like I'm missing a big part of the riddle that will make a Google search make sense.

Hello everyone!
I haven't been around much in the past year, but man I miss the puzzles
Lurking on a few threads hoping something will take off...

When I read the tweets, my intuition was that it sounded like a pattern that would be used for a book title... like "The Art of Racing in the Rain" or "The Tao of Pooh" or something like that...
Also, I feel the Google thing might just refer to the search suggestions, like if you type "the art of b" the autosuggest is "the art of being" which is a book.
I didn't come up with anything specific though, but thought it might help someone else...

hi all,
having had a busy couple of months i'd missed ella tolar following me on twitter until just recently!
still catching up with the posts on this and trying to be clear on where MoO ends and the next TbS ARG will begin, so if I post anything unrelated, confusing or that's already been said then apologies.
From what I can tell there are a acouple of unsolved puzzles still, first of which is the original Twitter puzzle. My thoughts were similar to mmdoogie on the a of a etc., as they reminded me of the pattern of book titles. given the literary themes of this ARG (and others by the same PM), that seems to add weight to the idea.
No answer I am fully happy with yet but I think my favourite fit so far would be
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
The Adventures of...
? That might give us:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
The Adventures of Alix (a contemporary of...)
The Adventures of Tintin
The Adventures of Batman
The Adventures of Kotetsu (????)
All comic/manga book series as well as other forms of literature.
I suspect this isn't right but may be on the right tracks? Will attempt to email to ella and see if she will give me a clue for trying,
mycroft
