Am I the only one some what put off by the article saying that The Operator is "Affectionatly" called Slender Man? Slender Man is the offical name of the character The Operator is based on.

Nope, you're not.

Now if it was o-town, then yes, I would consider that affectionate.

He probably threw in the "affectionately" so people who aren't already familiar with Slender Man can actually take it seriously. When you phrase it like he did, it sounds like a fan nickname. If he actually called him Slender Man without a qualifier, then it's clear that Slender Man is his actual name and then the whole readership starts laughing at the silly name. It only sounds scary if you call him the slender man or something else that makes it a description (not a proper noun). That's probably one of the reasons Troy opted to change his name in the first place. :X

(Seriously. I've been working on an indie film about Slender Man since March and I always have to say "no, it's better than it sounds" after they hear the dude's name. Everyone raises an eyebrow.)

More on-topicly, I really dig that production photo in the article. If Tim weren't so clearly waiting for his queue, it would make for a good profile photo of Masky.

It was on purpose, I know it.

Lol @"get out of my room" being the only non-allcaps words in that sentence.

I actually kinda like the idea of them doing something between comedy and horror. Especially if they decide to let other actors take the reigns like Troy mentioned in a post on his blog (I think). The guys do good work but it'd be interesting to see some new faces operate under their direction.

Yeah, that's one reason why I would like to see old faces come back into play in Marble Hornets. Kinda getting tired of it just revolving around the same 2 or 3 actors.
