Alright My third post and my third review.

I will be reviewing TheDeadAreWatching. I was expecting a long haul with so many entries, but it was only 40 Min long according to the playlist. That made me happy... after sitting through FutureRefused2Change earlier today. I... I really like this series. It starts off in a new direction then I have seen before and it follows through well. The acting is nicely played and in episode 32 he really freaked me at the end. The Slender Man is different in this series. It seems to be very proactive. It isn't as otherworldly scary as in many other series, but it does the job. In entry 30 Slendy's arm grows and it picks up the camera and in entry 33 you get a hint of tentacles. I hope the strangeness of his Slender Man continues to build. All in all I say well done and this is the first series I have reviewed on unfiction that I am subbing.

What was that thing at the very end? Was that the mask? I'm not very quick with the pause button to figure it out...

I'm curious as to what was in that journal he found, and what that necklace was about. Or did he tell his wife what was in the journal when he was on the phone with her in video #26? I couldn't really hear it all that well, so if anybody else has a transcript of some sort that'll be helpful (:.

Well this episode was a strange one. In my opinion he was not the one who uploaded this because there is heavy editing and a odd description.

"With th3 lack of sanity com3s only truth, no matter how insan3 that truth may be."

Next question is WTF is happening here? A low whisper talking to him about his missing brother and is that him in the mask? It doesn't sound like he is talking through one. Does anyone else have a take on this?

JiingJiing I think your prayers have been answered. I re-watched 26 to transcribe it for you and it appears that he put up text bubbles to mimic his dialog. Also this is the best frame grab I could get of his mask. I am sorry, I don't know how to make it smaller.

Thank you! I shall go back to watch #26 (:
It sounds like he's either talking in his sleep or is in a trance caused by whatever is behind that mask. It'd hate to think it was another proxy (they already have two) but I don't think it could be him in that mask. There is that one guy who appeared in that tape in #24, maybe he is coming back?

I agree. I don't think it is a proxy or malevolent. The guy in entry 24 is Ken and his is the dead body Leo finds in entry 25. On the other hand, Ken's message was intended for someone and that someone may be the masked figure. What a twisted web is being weaved... or I could be wrong about everything...

Anybody have a transcript for 34 yet? I can't make out half of what the whispering voice is saying.

"They need to know the truth."

"Your brother was taken."

"You know who took him."

"He is responsible."

Two new entries are up. Leo got some sleep and is reviewing the videos he took while in a state of "delirium" caused by his lack of sleep.

A brief address.

Camcorder's internal memory reviewed. Several interesting things I noted.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Dogs barking when Leo is around. Kind of reminds me of one of the rules Help3r put out. "You should have kept all the puppies.. Rule#193 Animals can sense him."

Another indirect operator symbol, the man hole, this is the second I have seen in this series so far.

Fresh blood. Its always fresh blood. He must be delirious to touch it even if he didn't know what it was in the first place.

Hmm... this series is very interesting.

Just watched the whole thing through, up to 36, and I'd say it's worth a watch. My quick review of the series:

The Pros:
- The paranormal aspect is pretty interesting. The video series starts out like a post you'd find on /x/ at 2am, and then slowly gets more and more bizarre. To be honest, when Slender Man made his first appearance I was rather surprised.
- The videos are short, and easy to watch. They really stick to the point.
- The isolation of this guy gives it a Tribe Twelve-ish flair.
- The overall style reminds me of Experience of Evil, if anyone remembers that. I really enjoyed that series.
- The episode where Slendy entered his house actually creeped me out a bit.
- I like this guys take on the Mythos. It's bold and seems to be portraying Slendy as some kind of demon.

The Cons:
- The guy narrates things that don't need to be narrated. In other words, he tends to be Captain Obvious a lot of the time.
- The effects. They definitely need some work. And I understand it's hard when you're first starting a vlog, but some parts I felt took away from the creep factor, rather than adding to it. Like when he vomited blood(?) after seeing the Slenderized corpse in the park. Also, the Slendy costume could use some TLC.

Overall, the story seems fresh and engaging and I'd say is at least worth a quick look at.

It looks cool but my immersion was broken when he brought up necronomicon.

He plays it straight so I am cool with it. I found it an interesting homage since I have always considered the Slender Man to be very Lovecraftian.

More likely the Slender Man picked up the resting camera that Leo set up.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
The build up and that crazy face really freaked me out!

I was watching this in bed in the dark... I may not sleep well tonight. Sad
