His dad has the exact same beliefs as DNC. But...why does he mention Melissa in his journal? o-o I mean, there were other hospital staff attending to him, right? But he's the only person he mentions, and the only one by name.

just some random thoughts about the journal I wanted to share:

Now it's obvious that MDT's dad is related with ZODIAC (the signature, and other elements of the journal)

I think Melissa was a follower of MDT's dad, when he died she searched another master to follow, that one is DNC... probably a disciple of MDT's father (because of the signatures, are very similar)

As I understand the journal (part I and II) it seems to be another person involved in this. A person that act as a guide that free the people of the conventional sense of guilt, giving this murder instincts a purpose: The purpose of saving the world, saving the people they kill. So, there must be a kind of headmaster, who enlightened MDT's father, maybe if we figure out who he or she is, we will find more answers...

And, I think we must organise somehow all the information we have until this point, we've been talking with Waitress and we feel we have missed some clues and puzzles, but there's so much info spread that it's difficult to see the panorama...

There's something that confuses me about the whole Zodiac thing, though.

Here's a note that the Zodiac wrote:

The Zodiac was killing for way different reasons than MDT and DNC. MDT and DNC believe that they are helping the world and that killing is merely something that needs to be done. Whereas the Zodiac was doing it for purely selfish reasons.

I think in the beginning of the game PM kinda aims to the Zodiakesque mo (we can even remember strong similarities with Butcherface). But then plot evolves and we have a different(but not that different) killer.

Interesting fact: in the Butcherface story guy, in which house cassettes were founded, also called Chris.

I mean, I definitely knew this arg was inspired by the Zodiac, but I'm wondering if there's another connection?

The Zodiac killer was abviously the "mentor" his dad was talking about. there's a theory that there were multiple Zodiac killers/copycats, because of the writing style changing with different letters, maybe the Zodiac was looking for a legacy(like DNC says he is)

Yeah, but you're not understanding.

The goals of the two killers are the exact opposite. The Zodiac Killer wanted to create slaves that would serve him in heaven. He wanted a large number of people that he could rule over, and he believed that every person he murdered would live on in the after life to be his slave.

Meanwhile, DNC and MDT want to save people. They think that what they are doing is helping mankind. That they strive to create balance and that people have to die for balance to exist. They are not creating slaves or doing it for what they perceive to be selfish reasons. They think that they are saving mankind.

If the Zodiac was their mentor, then they would have totally different viewpoints on why they kill.

I have to agree with Revenir with this one. Zodiac could've inspired them, but the reasoning for the kills is different. More copycat than mentor.

Still trying to figure everything out about the journal. I've watched the video about 5 times, but... Ugh. Lots of info. Sorry I haven't had much that's post-worthy in a while.
