I left my theory above on why TO wants Alex's meatsack (trollololololol), but here's how I explain the three years of no contact.

Say, what if The Operator was just waiting for Alex to gain something precious enough (like a girlfriend he cared about a lot), before turning up again to take it away? Obviously the camera has some correlation to the events in 26. It's possible TO took control of Alex's body and planted the camera there or just somehow influenced Amy into discovering it.

I would bet that you are correct.

Although why he is paranoid about it is a concern to me, he did wave the tape in Jays face, didn't he? Claiming that Jay had no idea what was on the tape.

I want to guess at what the tape would even contain, but I legitimately have zero clue...

Not sure I buy it. If he was able to take control Alex's body to plant the tape then the events of entry 26 would have been unnecessary. It could have been done early by TO as a gambit to ensure he would return if he lost Alex, but he was fairly active in the entries previous to 26. In addition it seems a little...odd that he'd lose track of Alex if he is his anchor in our world.

Aw, come on, I'm the Percolator, not the blank. Sad

And like I said, it was possibly just influencing Amy to find it, or a very brief temporary control over Alex. Being done earlier is possible too, but I think that possibly TO can only manifest himself through Alex when Alex appears on film as a medium.

I still like my previous theory more of TO just baiting for the right time for someone to discover the plant so that he could take something away from Alex to bargain against him. This way, Alex wouldn't be able to resist a trade if it was for something he really cared about.

 		Guys I hear some sort of disturbance in Alex's voice when he talks to himself while walking to the tunnel. We all have seen how he has been treating J lately so if he was talking to J he would have just turned around and told him to stop. I think he was talking to The Operator. When he says to stop following him his voice cracks and there is desperation. Like please I beg you stop following me. I know you are there you don't have to hide I know you are there. And he is whispering so he probably knows that J is following him but he doesn't want J to know that tall dark and slendy is following close behind. I can't wait to see what is going to happen after this. What we do know is that Alex has actually killed someone on camera. Whos to say that he didn't kill Brian and Seth and Jessica???

 		This topic is moving insanely quickly, but I searched for "897" on every previous page and didn't see anyone noting this so I'll throw this out there. Apologies if I just missed it somehow.

As Alex gets out of the car, he brings his ponderous keychain into view for a few frames, and there's something which appears to have "897#" (unsure of the last number, but it looks most like "4") visible upon it written with.. a sharpie or something. Is this a number that has turned up before, or is in any way significant? Or is this just the first PIN we need to guess if anyone ever steals Alex's ATM card?

 		Hmmm, why does Alex opens the satchel and looks into it with a sigh? (from 01:35 to 01:48 ) I think there is something of Amy in there to remind him why he is doing all this. He looks at it to gain courage to face the operator again. Not to sound daft, but I think this is the same reason why he is wearing that pink watch in entry 44.

 		Hey guys.
Longgggg time lurker, first time poster, inspired to post by other new guy.

Just my 2 cents, theory etc

In 38, after the tape runs out, Alex knocks Jay out (some how), and carries/drags him to the tunnel. In which Jay wakes up, Alex attempts to kill him, as he did to Bruce, Jay fights back, resulting in him killing Alex, explaining the pools of blood, and the rock being moved.
And, Jay then grabs Alex's chestcam, and films himself 'discovering the blood' as in #29, as if 'Framing someone else'.
First part makes most sense, 2nd part is me trying to explain #29.

Also.
Why is no one mentioning Alex's muttering of "Don't follow me" "Don't follow me" "Stop following me, I know you're there"

I've been thinking quite a bit about this. It does make a lot of sense (well, if you substitute Jessica for Amy or Sarah). In this entry, we finally saw proof of the Operator snatching someone away... but that someone was dead. We've never seen the Operator permanently abduct a living person, only a dead one. Maybe Alex has always been the person who kills the people, and then the Operator takes away the dead bodies.

It also makes me wounder if Alex is still alive. A lot of us were under the impression that he will die near the close of the 7 months, but maybe the big reveal will be "Alex is still alive and he's going to find me." Perhaps he actually discovered Jay and Jessica's location at the hotel, and that's why Masky intervened... to scare them away before Alex could reach them.

I dunno, but I'm all of a sudden FAR more terrified of Alex than I ever was of the Operator.

That is a darn good theory. It explains why the only footage Jay had access to at the beginning of Season 2 was Entry #29 (the forged evidence), while all of the truthful evidence was locked away in a safe.

We have seen him teleport Alex away and maybe Jay as well (going in one door sleepwalking and not coming out the other side)
