 		It's so tempting to subtitle the Operator distortion to make him a good guy/unwilling accomplice.

Look at how the glare from the end of the tunnel is wrapping around the figure, particularly its forearms. It's definitely a person with a T-shirt. Every time we've seen the Operator, he has had full-length "sleeves." If it's not Alex, it's someone else, but not the Operator.

As for video order: My take is 49-38-(50?)-29(noentry).

 		i just realized something

alex probably thought this guy was a masky. remember in 45 he says "next time i see you i'll kill you" - he wasn't kidding.

it's possible troseph want us to think alex is posessed, but in reality he could just be so paranoid from months of being followed by maskys that he lost his cool

First of all, this is not just some random forest. It's a public park. This may be hard for the denizens of the internet to understand, but some people like to go to parks so that they can be around trees and go for a walk. It's fun.

Secondly, we have no reason to believe that the route Alex/Jay take is the only one. Alex is off the path, to be sure, but he also is Slender-influenced and doesn't want to be followed. The tunnel itself appears to be in a somewhat open area, and you'll notice Beardy approaches not from the bushes, but from the right hand side. So obviously he took a different route, and WAS likely just strolling by.

Thirdly, it seems very unlikely that the big pipe/tunnel thing is in an entirely secluded part of Rosswood. It's a big man-made structure, I guarantee that a lot of people know where it is. Maybe Beardy made for the tunnel cause it's a good spot to smoke a joint or have anonymous sex with strangers :p.

But all seriousness aside, you are overthinking this and in doing so have detached yourself from the most obvious, simple, and likely explanation. Let's review what we saw--Alex mutters "don't follow me" while Jay is following him. While sitting in the tunnel for a while, a dude walks up, to whom Alex immediately says "I told you not to follow me." Dude says he doesn't understand, Alex kills him.

The REASON that most people think that Alex thought this was Jay, at least initially, is because that's the most likely explanation. Bruce being a sinister force is roughly as likely as the headphone dude from the older entry being one. Simply because it's POSSIBLE that Alex is secretly a good guy and Bruce was a bad dude doesn't entitle you to ignore all evidence suggesting otherwise. We're gonna need something better than "he walked into the forest randomly" to assume he's up to something.

 		and i'm going to need something better than "he thought it was jay" when he looks straight at the guy and then yells "i told you not to follow me" after looking at him

alex clearly recognizes jay before and after that event (entry 47 / calling jay)

it's more likely that alex thought this guy was one of the maskys since he was by himself and didn't think anyone would be going there.

i can fill in the blanks however i want in a theory, stop acting like i'm speaking in facts

We have no evidence that he was anything but a random passerby who saw a guy in a tunnel and asked if he needed any help. He died in the entry that he was introduced in.

Either: This guy followed Jay around in the forest and was the twig snapper and was so god damn good at hiding that we couldn't see his WHITE SHIRT amongst the trees and after Jay ran off he waited/watched alex for 15 minutes just so he could walk up and ask him he was alright,

or:

He was taking a stroll through the park like we've seen other people do in this series.

Between this, insisting that we can see The Operator's tentacles (Which he doesn't have), and "lol he just killed a dude no big deal"...

 		hey TO has tentacles in tribetwelve (and i prefer him with tentacles) and his arms are tentacle shaped

regardless of the white shirt guy, i'm sticking to my guns with the theory that alex thought he was a masky and was living up to what he said in entry 45

and you can't deny the timing. from the moment jay runs away from the tunnel to the moment whiteshirt walks up to alex, only fifteen minutes pass. take into consideration jay had to run back to his car and leave. assuming that took five minutes with jay running, how do you explain the guy reaching alex in ten minutes? this would mean he would have to be walking somewhat fast headed directly for that tunnel from the moment he leaves his car

Just because you can fill it in with whatever you want doesn't make it worth saying out loud/listening to.

White-shirt is the operator's grandson who alex is extremely jealous over. He follows Alex around gloating how the operator loves him more and alex is sick of it and told him not to do it anymore. Well, alex made good on his threats!

I can fill in the blanks with whatever I want.

i'm assuming it took jay five minutes simply because there's only 15 minutes between jay running from alex spotting him to leaving in his car

if it took jay longer than 5 minutes to run, then that's a dead giveaway that this guy headed straight for alex

considering rosswood is a few miles deep, it's HIGHLY unlikely that jay was able to run out in less than five minutes. they passed through the underbrush tunnel thing from entry 43 which was a few minutes walking into the park from where alex parked. jay running out in less than five minutes just can't be true

What you said there didn't make much sense.

All we know is that fifteen minutes after Jay starts running, Bruce shows up at the tunnel. We don't know how long it took Jay to get out of the woods.
