Rewatching the entry - has anyone touched on the fact that the body is in different position before and after the distortion at about 3:24?

Probably not all that significant - I know it's very hard to lay completely still between takes - but I'm just curious if anyone else noticed or I'm just batty as usual. Mind you, it's before Bruce has his face rocked, so he could merely have shifted in his unconscious state.

I see what you mean. I guess Alex didn't choke him to death, but actually killed him with the rock. Or else it was OOG shifting between takes.

I just made an account and did'nt get all the way through the pages so sorry if im repeating something someone already said but here it is:

I agreed with the "guy in the white shirt at the end of entry 48" theory until i thought about it harder, if Alex was telling the guy not to follow him while he was walking through the forest, then how would Jay see the guy after that when he runs back? unless he followed Alex in the forest and then went back to his car then came back and got killed?

Alex didn't tell the guy anything. He simply muttered "don't follow me" when he was walking through the woods, as if he somehow expected Jay to hear him. Alex has clearly gone mad.

I believe so. I mean, he murdered the guy. And the guy said "uhhh I don't know what you're talking about."

when alex says "i told you not to follow me" it's most likely a reference to entry 45 ("the next time i see you ill kill you")

alex looked right at bruce before yelling at him, he clearly knew it wasn't jay. for people who are saying "well he's under slendys influence," realize that he recognizes jay in entry 47 and again in this entry when he calls him.. so yeah.

He was muttering to somebody "don't follow me, I know you're there", and that's why he yelled that at the end. It has little to do with 45, unless he REALLY REALLY thought the guy was a masked person.

It's possible Alex searched him too. Checked for his wallet, etc.

No, he doesn't. The Operator isn't in TriveTwelve at all. It's a completely different character.

This. I think of the term "Slenderman" as a *type* of monster, while The Operator is a character, a specific monster. Like vampires in general vs. Dracula. Personally, I'm as skeptical about tentacles on The Operator as I would be about Dracula playing vampire baseball. =/

Here's what I think happened: I'm inclined to believe Alex was in his "normal human" state before entering the woods. As he goes further into Rosswood, he starts to slip into a trance state/possession/whatever, as evidenced by the low-level distortion that kicks in on the trail. He knows Jay is following him and he's still himself enough to care about it, hence the muttering (to himself, IMO). Once he gets to the tunnel, he's more deeply submerged in the trance. Maybe that's why he doesn't see Jay when he looks back: His senses are turning inward/tuning in to The Operator. Jay thinks he's been spotted and books, but Alex doesn't realize that. During the 15 minutes of stillness, Alex gets totally submerged. (Perhaps that's what he was doing, or trying to do, in his apartment back in #44.)

Meanwhile Bruce, who's an innocent bystander, sees Jay make his getaway. He either gets concerned/suspicious, or he just starts the walk he was already planning to take. Probably the latter. Bruce goes into the woods, following a trail from the parking lot area to the tunnel--which is a different trail than the one Alex used. Alex's car is NOT parked near Jay's and Bruce's cars; their cars are much closer to the tunnel than Alex's.

Anyway, Bruce finds Alex. By this point, Alex has "left the building." He's totally submerged/taken over. He hears Bruce approach and mistakes him for Jay, because he's tuned in to The Operator and his normal human thought processes are glitching out. He attacks and chokes Bruce.

After Bruce is knocked out, Alex realizes he's a stranger. But committing that violence has taken Alex over a line. It either gives The Operator what he needs to be in control of Alex's body 24/7, or Alex goes mad--for lack of a better term--and stays submerged by choice. Alex the cold killer is now fully born. Cue ROCKSMASH, then Operation: Jay is Toast.

I'm also starting to think "the twins" refers to Bruce and a second, as-yet-unseen whiteshirted victim. That explains the blood and clothing discrepancies between #29 & #49; I'd much rather think that than chalk it up to continuity errors.

I know I just posted a topic about this on the Slender Man Mythos board, but I really wish they'd make The Operator move more. Even if it's just a little bit, it really ups the scare factor for me when He moves. When He doesn't, He practically looks like a cardboard cutout. I realize it must not be easy to do, but even something like the head tilt or peering down over the body would have made His appearance here a lot scarier.

I came across this while reading the thread, and I agree so, so much. The whole turning around and seeing him standing there thing is scary, but after seeing his last several appearances, one might think that he teleports around in the same pose all of the time.

Remember how creepy the Operator was pushing open the door in Entry 14 or walking towards the camera in Return? I hope we see more of that.

I only got to about page 13 so I'm sorry if I'm repeating, but my class is about to end haha.

Alex's "Don't follow me" and whispering and all that reminds me of a paranoid schizophrenic or something along the lines of that. I know someone researched the pills that Jay found in his bag in the hotel room, and there was one that was to treat schizophrenia... if this series ends with Alex being a schizophrenic or something, I will not be happy D:< It'd be like a Shutter island ending or something.

Not quite--as I recall, the general consensus was that Jay's big bottle of pills was plain old ibuprofen. You're thinking of season 1, and the unlabeled bottle of pills from Brian's house. Someone pointed out an epilepsy drug which Wiki says is also used to treat schizophrenia and which has side effects similar to Tim's apparent slendersickness. Various theories played with that, but ultimately we still don't know what the pills were or whether they belonged to Alex, Brian or Tim, all of whom were connected to the house.

Though, again if I remember right, the epilepsy drug came up because someone connected to MH mentioned it in another forum OOG, but got cagey about whether it had anything to do with the series. I could be wrong on that--it's been a while, and I'm medicated myself right now. Wink

I like how Alex started wearing his keys around his neck.

Two possibilities:
a: He lost nearly all control and tries to warn Jay. Sort of like a werewolf shooing a person away before they rip the shit out of them.
b: He doesn't want the big O-bro to blow his cover and SPOOK Jay.

I doubt that Alex expected Jay to hear him say not to follow him. I just think that Alex was quietly vocalizing his fear for Jay's safety despite knowing how hard headed Jay can be.

Like when someone says, "come on please don't be a hard test" they don't expect anyone to hear them and make the test easy, but they are just quietly expressing their fear of a hard test.
