 		It sure does feel like it's been forever since the last entry was posted.

It makes me sad, yet happy knowing that a new one has to be coming any day now.

I think we've pretty much ran out of things to talk about again so let's hope it comes very soon.

 		So, has anyone read John Dies at the End? No, don't walk away, this is relevant. Well, part of the book is that there's this sort of "black hole" people can fall into, and if they get sucked into it, nobody remembers them, there's no record of them, it's like they never existed (except for when people are drunk and start randomly telling stories about this nonexistent person). With the way Jay is struggling to find him as a missing person (and OOG: the way they're making a point of emphasizing that), could the Operator have the ability to "disappear" people? That could mean the reason he can't find anything is because the guy basically never existed, but for whatever reason (cameras in general, seeing the operator disappear him on that reel, whatever), there's exactly one record of him, and really the only way he exists is in that film, meaning Jay and us can remember a guy like that, even if he never existed in our reality due to Operator tampering.

Other theory: Entry 50 will have the guy just pop up and leave the forest, no worse for the wear, no traumatic injuries or anything. He just shows up a few hours (or a day) later and goes home, hence no missing person report: he was only gone for a few hours.

You're absolutely right, that's either The Operator or Alex, depending on which theory you'd follow of what happened in 29.
There's something I learned in English class about noticing things that happen in the story. There are two questions, and they shouldn't be taken harshly:
"Why" and "So what"
You're right, but so what? It's nothing new.


Here's a good "So what" to consider, I think. Sidetone came out immediately before enttry 37. We now have context for noentry and that flash moment of sidetone (there were others, but I'm not sure if I can catch them). Think about what enttry 37 was suggesting in context with that image and perhaps we'll uncover something interesting. I don't have any good theories at the moment, and there's a chance that "so what" will end up being an answer in the long run, but why not give it a chance?

I just re-watched it and saw what you were talking about. However, I noticed something else that intrigued me even more. Between 0:10 and 0:13 there's a green tinted image that keeps popping up of a person (Alex maybe?) looking at two bright lights in the distance. They remind me of the lights that appeared in the totheark "Memories" video.

Here's a screencap from Sidetone.

The image shifts from one to three or four prominent light sources throughout the video. The lights seem notably similar to the strange lights seen in Memories and Classified.

Have you read Shirley Jackson's short story "The Missing Girl"? It's loosely based on the disappearance of Paula Jean Welden (which brings up the question, why has no one ever based a Slenderman story near the Long Trail in Vermont? Glastenbury would be the perfect location for a story about an entity that makes people disappear.). A teenaged girl leaves her summer-camp cabin one evening and doesn't show up again. (It's two or three days before her cabin-mate reports her missing, because she's afraid people will laugh at her.) It's hard to solve a missing-person case when there's no record of the girl who's disappeared from camp ever having been registered at the camp.
