Geocaching

Would someone please post the pictures/screenshots for those of us for whom the required software app will not work?

(Bad theorem! Very, very bad! These should be solvable without special software or equipment.)

The landmarks are, for those sans Google Earth:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):

A. The Eiffel Tower
B. The Parthenon
C. The Forbidden City
D. The Sydney Opera House
E. The Statue of Liberty

Also, I'm pretty sure the number for B is just plain wrong...

I agree.
Or else I (and apparently you) don't understand how the units work.

The minutes value of the East co-ordinates of 'Final City' doesn't seem to resolve to a whole number.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
The numbers using the slash take me to a popular vacation city, but its not accepted as correct

For the number for B, using whole values and info on the wiki page seemed to work

Geocashing

Did that puzzle just change on me? I could swear location B said perimeter was 2LW while we all know it is 2(L +W), but a few minutes later it was changed. It cost me time and points, I just want to see if I was the only one who thinks they're crazy.

Yep, puzzle changed 25 minutes into it or so. I think I still have the wrong number for 2...

Perimeter Counting

B is definitely wrong; it's off by two.

B isn't wrong but...

It is a weird way to ask for the number. It reads at first that the question is how many columns are on the perimeter, but thats not what its asking for. Just follow the formula it lists (2*Columns on the side + 2*Columns on end). It does mean you are double counting 2 of the columns. But that makes the rest of the numbers come out correctly.

No, B is definitely wrong.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
The Parthenon is 8 columns by 17 (on the outside).

If you just count total outer columns, there are 46. If you count the perimeter, 2*8+2*17, you get 16+34, which is 50.

I've counted 4 different floorplans about 5 times each. Am I missing a column on each end (or each side) each time I count?

How in the hey did you get those numbers? You're off by about a continent. If you want to PM me the values of A through E you have, I'll tell you which ones are accurate and not.
