No, we must water it down. It's the only way to be safe.

I rewatched the entry and there's a brick in my pants. The way Alex suddenly stands at point blank range when the camera comes back on is no coincidence. Something major happened in the gap between the tapes, and that something is why Alex took Jay into the forest. I withdraw my previous theory about him wanting to kill Jay but deciding to wait for Jessica to be there too.

Another idea: We are shown that Alex deliberately leaves his own camera in the car. I'm thinking he walked Jay around until his tape ran out. This would mean that Alex knew at that time that Jay would forget everything.

Well, I managed to disprove my own bullshit theory. That's productive, right?

In noentry (#29), whoever's filming this scene has a chest cam and a handheld camcorder - you get a shot of the camcorder in view around 0:37. But he (she?) also has long sleeves, looks like a dark hoodie.

I know nothing can be proven, as far as identity, but I've seen you all call out names based on the color of hoodies before. And I've seen a few of you defend these ID's to the end.

Anyway, my point being that even the insanely slim chance of 29 being between 38 and the second part of 50 is impossible based on the chest cam. Unless that was during the lapse in chasing Masky, and Masky was wearing a chest cam by some freak stroke of luck, but... I'm not holding my breath on that.

... but then... in 49 at 5:15-5:20, Alex is wearing a chest cam and seems to have acquired a dark jacket of some sort... which is... somehow just as unsettling to me as the other events of entry 49... especially since this kinda makes him an ideal candidate, in my mind, for entry 29, if he can get his hands on a camcorder. Lucky for me, he carries a camera bag with him everywhere...

... How did I not see this before? Unless someone else already mentioned this at some point? And if it was Alex in 29, when did it happen? It must have been that day. Maybe between the cuts in entry 49? Maybe that's why he wanted to talk to Jay - maybe he wanted to tell him about what he found in the tunnel, and he lost his nerve after they seemed to have someone following them that he couldn't shake...

I believe what you saw was a watch...

You know, I considered that earlier and it didn't look like it at the time, but at a second glance, it probably is a watch... I stand by the rest, though, and I genuinely have to ask, have we seen Jay using a chest cam in the "flashbacks" (for lack of better word) at all? I can't think of a time, off the top of my head... And if he hasn't, then I maintain that it had to be Alex in 29.

And regardless of the fact that it's no longer a tie-in, it still looks to me like Alex somehow picked up a jacket at the end of 49 - his shirt didn't look as baggy in the beginning as it does with the upward angle at 5:17. At the very least, it's odd.

-shrugs- Jay had to get the chestcam at some point. There's still a strong possibility that it was Jay. Especially considering that we didn't see Alex's trademark bracelet.

This theory should not be overlooked.

I don't know if anyone has pointed it out yet (though I did just browse through the past 29 pages...might have missed something), but Tim did say OOG
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
that the thing they were waiting for in the mail was not something that would be used as a plot device, and was mostly for continuity. I'm assuming it was probably Alex's hoodie or something.

Dunno if anyone caught this and I don't remember anyone mentioning it but...

Any idea what these white lines are on the concrete just outside the other end of the tunnel?

I think those are just calcium deposits from the rain running through the tunnels... Can't be too sure without a better look, but they don't look so out of the ordinary to me.

That or spraypaint, graffiti or otherwise. It looks to be a normal stormdrain OOG.

At the end of 38, he's walking towards Jay.
In 50, after he changes tapes, Alex is standing right in front of him.
There's just a gap where he's walking over to Jay.
It'd complicate everything if something else happened. Especially this far in the season.

If those are just calcium deposits from the rain, it would indicate something about the make up of the ground in the surrounding area. Since the pattern is dendritic (that lovely tree shape) it would make sense, since the concrete floor is pretty much an aquifer (non-porous and other liquid resistant materials tend to cause dendritic streams). It also gives us clues to the frequency of rain in the tunnel. If it's just a dendritic pattern, the rain must be both enough to form a stream, but not so much as to flood said stream, or else we'd be seeing more of a slate (all-over) calcium deposit. It's entirely possible that instead, it was chalked in, since trees are central to Slenderman mythos, and Alex's OP ghost story. If somebody can do some OOG investigation sometime, that would help. I'm not in their area, or I would check it out.

o.o.... Wow... so that's what it's like to pay attention in geology class... *is kind of surprised at myself*

I suppose it's possible body culture is that different in the US, but over here in Scandinavia you just don't stand that close to another person unless you're going to do something that requires bodily contact.

It's possible that they intended it to be a tense moment. Standing so close here is more tense/awkward than it being anything else over here, depending on the situation.
