I think people feel the same way about this that they did about Matrix Revolutions: angry dissatisfaction. And frankly I just don't get it.

I really don't get how Rev got such bad reception. I thought it was by far better than the second one. It's impossible to get better than the 1st one. The first one was just an eye popper with the story plot and action.

The third had better flow than the second one. And to those who thought the Zion scenes had nothing to do with the story, shut up. Because you obviously weren't watching The Matrix. I don't know what you were watching.

That was my beef with the bad movie reviews.

About this ARG. I don't get it. I don't get why people were so disappointed. They left it open for a reason. The same reason the WB left Rev ending open: possible sequel (even though they deny it... p.s. PJ said no way in hell he was doing "The Hobbit", and guess what? That's right. He's doing it.) Anyway, we get a clear understanding in my point of view that the story goes on. The game ended but the story hasn't. It's left to our interpretation. So quit your damn complaining, and get on with your lives.

Wellllll...........

I like it when a book ties most things up at the end, I like it when a film concludes things (it's possible to do this and leave it open for sequels you know). I like a game the same.

Generally a narrative, and an ARG would seem to be a narrative, has a main theme, and that theme is discovered, then explored, and then wrapped up. That's why people were expecting a bit more to happen than the hackers escaping, the AI man disappearing and eveything else going back to (almost) normal.

The fall of metacortex, and their collusion with the systems of "The construct" or whatever Beth was in would have made a far more interesting end.
And unless there was something that totally passed me by, Wongmo wasn't really brought in to the main game, nor was phil or theaquapolis. They didn't affect beth's life much (like there was all the stuff about maybe kat replacing laika and beth's mum with a program/clone/something), and that went nowhere.

It was great fun whilst it lasted, but it seemed to be going somewhere grander than it went.

Mostly though I'm bitter that I spent the weekend with my girl, and by the time I got back there were posts up saying it was all over Exclamation

In summary -
Best Fun Ever + abrupt and unexpected end + loose ends = unsatisfying meal.

Wish I could be satisfied with less but I'm very demanding Mr. Green
