I KNOW, this is a double post. I wanted to keep thoughts separate with out filling an entire page with one post. I've done it before, and no one likes it. Moving on!

I was taking a break from the active thinking points of this game, and decided to go more on the 'where's waldo' route. Took that picture that was uploaded earlier, screwed with the sharpness, brightness, contrast and got the image 'hidden' in the background to be a little clearer. It looks (to ME) like (possibly) a cauldron.

Well, based on our chat earlier, Vlad told me that we need to stay away from the tragedies and focus on the comedies of Shakespeare. Here's a list of them:

All's Well That Ends Well
As You Like It
Comedy of Errors
Love's Labour's Lost
Measure for Measure
Merchant of Venice
Merry Wives of Windsor
Midsummer Night's Dream
Much Ado about Nothing
Taming of the Shrew
Tempest
Twelfth Night
Two Gentlemen of Verona
Winter's Tale

So, we confirmed Livingstone is the starting point, the directional marker to both the treasure and the character (their names are similar) and this characters last words are referenced in a poem.

Seeing as names are a theme here, I'm guessing we have to look at the NAMES of the buildings at Strathmore to figure this out. Maybe. Or maybe not. You never know with Vlad/Shadow. Anyway, here's a list of the buildings with actual NAMES:

Alexander Turnbull Building
Barony Hall
Collins Building
Colville Building
Crawfurd Building
Curran Building
David Stow Building
Graham Hills Building
Henry Dyer Building
James Weir Building
John Anderson Building
John Arbuthnott Building
Jordanhill Campus
Livingstone Tower
McCance Building
Sir Henry Wood Building
Sir William Duncan Building
Smith Building
Stenhouse Building
The Lord Todd
Thomas Graham Building
Tom Bone Building

This is what I've got going now...

This is probably wrong, but if we're looking at similarities in names, could it be Touchstone, from As You Like It?

Funny you mentioned As You Like It. I was JUST trying to get it out of SV. I had that inkling for a bit and figured I could get something to back it out of him. Now that you're saying the same, I'd say straight up it's the right path. Well..hopefully.

Edit : Here's a pastebin of the chat, from the moment Aquarius and I joined.

New email from VS:

Quote:
Spheres of heaven
Circles of hell
A name, like time, has power
Of mine - can you tell?

My brother's name you know
Albeit an alias used
His imagination gained from family
All treated fair? Abused?

Reveal your knowledge to me to gain my trust...

I'm guessing that everybody else that sent Shadow something probably received this too. Is this image different from the ones we've already seen?

ETA: A little bird Wink suggested that we peek at the dimensions of the image, which happen to be 1111x1111 px. After looking at the image a little closer, I can see that at least some of the text on the image is what I sent to Shadow. Does anybody else recognize some of their work in this image as well? At the bottom is "St. Petersburg, March 12, 1900." I'm not sure what this is referencing, but I'm sure that it's important somehow.

SV mentions sending more out due to Aquarius and my self, probably half way through the pastebin I linked. The new email (and picture) are, I assume, what he meant.

Well, I gave it another shot, and came up with a new journey.... which was wrong again Confused

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
So from the clyde of strath I lead clydno by his halter and seek the measured wisdom of claudio. Alas, we arrive too late, and instead we find only his final words "I am so out of love" scribbled hastily in Rosetti verse "Of why he would be a Scullion"

To which I got the reply:
Once more you walk the wrong path
You pursue comedy, and not wrath
You do not get closer friend
Seek others help for this to end...

Which confused me totally lol! I really thought I was nearly there with this Crying or Very sad

I went into Picnik and boosted the color saturation, it really makes the image a lot more readable. Question, though: I'm not sure if this is someone's shadow thing they sent Vlad, or if it's a message from him. Did anyone write a poem starting with "I exist somewhere between darknesses"?

Yes, that's the beginning of the poem I wrote.

Touchstone was mentioned a bit earlier on wasn't he? When I was first looking him up I thought he was from a tragedy so I didn't look again.
Well actually it does make sense, and I've looked at the play. His final word is

The e-mail was titled nine, Shadow wanted nine of our hellish thoughts, so the obvious lead is Dante's Divine Comedy. Not that it helps much
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Divine_Comedy
Though Dante is guided through the Inferno by Virgil..
Interestingly Dante had a half brother Francesco and may have been a Gemini, the sign of the twins.

Dear friend of Intueor
We write to you on this, the 27th October 2011 to announce that the first guardianship has been assigned.

As tradition states, this person will remain secret until the time of need - called upon by he or she who unites all of the thirteen together.

The second task for guardianship will be offered soon.

Intueor thanks you.

The second question is a multi-part one. I've been pondering is; what exactly is the purpose of assigning guardians to these treasures? Don't you - or any organization you work with/for - have staff that could be appointed these positions? Just seems strange to trust random strangers. And, what is their underlying purpose - if outsiders are needed, besides guarding the treasures, what is their role in the big picture?

Staff are required to oversee the project workings and cannot therefore be appointed guardians. As tradition states, once every 100 years, the thirteen treasures are appointed new guardians and these must be selected from the populace at large.
It is up to the possessing organisation to determine how this occurs, so long as the traditions are maintained.

@Veebee :
The Nine Spheres of Heaven are also part of the Divine Comedy. I'm assuming if SV wanted nine shadows, vs3.1 will want light, and the subject matter could potentially relate to the work.

Edit : Here's the Shadow of the Truth image edited a bit so things can be read more clearly. I'm still working to get the symbol in the center. It looks like it could be a signature.
http://i39.tinypic.com/oan8g7.png

Edit : Could be going out on a huge limb here, but for the March 12th bit;
Quote:
"Sergei Vladimirovich Nabokov was born in St. Petersburg on March 12, 1900. The Nabokovs were members of imperial Russia's most exclusive social circles, and the children grew up in a glamorous whirl of country estates, liveried servants, balls, boating parties and annual vacations in Biarritz, France, and on the Riviera. The family was extraordinarily wealthy; their lineage included princes and generals and government ministers, and even their faithful dog, Box II, was descended from a pair that belonged to Anton Chekhov. Nabokov once told an interviewer, "I probably had the happiest childhood imaginable."

But Sergei did not. While Vladimir was the eldest and the center of attention, Sergei grew up out of the limelight, shy and unhappy and somewhat odd. Elena Sikorski, nie Nabokov, the girl with the dachshund in her lap, is now 93 and the last surviving Nabokov sibling, but she remembers her aristocratic Russian youth with absolute clarity. When I telephoned her at her home in Geneva to ask about Sergei, she spoke of him fondly, but not without regret. Her voice is surprisingly deep, with an elegant, stateless European accent and just a hint of a quaver. "He was not the favorite of the family," she recalls. "I think that he was rather miserable during his childhood.""

Source : http://entertainment.salon.com/2000/05/17/nabokov_5/singleton/

Just the date of birth, the fact that it pertains in part to the man who Vladimir Sirin gets his pseudonym from, and the location add up, in my mind.

Oh, and THIS really stood out :
Quote:
Nabokov was fascinated by doubles, and his work is full of them — mirrors, twins, reflections, chance resemblances. Sergei was his brother's double, a "shadow in the background," as Nabokov put it. All his life Vladimir would be the golden wordsmith, the master of language; Sergei was afflicted with an atrocious stutter that would only get worse as he got older.

Dear friend of Intueor

This one will require you to act fast.

The previous guardian of this treasure liked to make people work for their ...'work'.

So: simply - where was* the key buried?

BUT to allow for easy access, there are quite a few references to the treasure as well within his message.

The one with the correct answer AND who has the most references found within the message will become the next guardian of this treasure.

ONLY ONE ENTRY PER PERSON THOUGH** - once entered, you will not be told if you are right or wrong until someone is appointed.

We will give people until Sunday 01:11 GMT... the closest, and/or one with the most references found will be appointed.

Intueor thanks you.
VS 3.1

*We now have the key as we had to ensure the treasure was kept safe for the next guardian -

but the new guardian can still prove their worth by informing us where it was buried.

**ie no re-entries will be accepted - all by email only please.

Originally, I wasn't going to say anything and get a lead on this second guardianship hint, but as I'll be gone for 8-9 hours, I figure someone will have already solved what I have. So here's my input on the letter with the newest email :
Quote:
Final Guardian Log
St. Odhran's Day
-He was chosen by the Vikings as patron of the city of Waterford in 1096 and later became patron of the diocese.

-Odran's feast day is October 27.
-Iona, Scotland

Quote:

I went by my self, from my house to another place. Not by candlelight and not by foot, my transport took me there quickly and simply

- Chariot

Quote:
The rota I was on defined my duration ofstay: at 5.49 I had to leave, heading to my lazy friend who lived in Murcia Hills {Was it hills actually? Something like that...}

- Venus Murcia ("Venus of the Myrtle") was an epithet that merged the goddess with the little-known deity Murcia or Murtia. Murcia was associated with the myrtle-tree, but in other sources was called a goddess of sloth and laziness.
- Possibly Venusberg; see Story of Tannhäuser

Quote:
Still, we eventually saw the clowns [how many appeared from that door? So many it seemed...] and the elephants - the horses I always feel sorry for, saddled with their burdens...

- Chariot reference again

Quote:
Enough already - the amount of references contained within should be enough to tell you where I went. It was there I burried the key.

Start your engines Intueor - thanks for everything...

The letter is broken down, with the quoted parts being the journal/letter, the points after being my thoughts. Use them the best you can. Hopefully I'm right in some of it!
