 		Hey guys, wanted to give you an update since I've been pretty quiet lately. With Christmas and New Years right around the corner, as well as setting up interviews for grad schools, my schedule has become increasingly packed. I will continue to attempt to stop by if and when I can, but it seems like things have slowed down quite a bit for now anyway. I get the feeling that most of us are in the same boat! Anyway, happy holidays to all of you, including our persistent and loving PM! Very Happy

 		I might be wrong, but that looks awfully like Joseph "Yellow Kid" Weil, the American scammer.

But, I'm pretty sure I'm wrong here. It could also be Wilf Lunn, or even Viv Stanshall himself.

 		The person is is David Hilbert. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Hilbert)

I think the numbers by Vlad's name/initials (230619122012) refer to the 100th anniversary of Alan Turing's birth, which is June 23, 1912. The dragons may reference the 2012 Chinese New Year being the year of the dragon.

I'm not sure how all of this could fit together, though.

 		Interesting that photo was taken in the year of Turing's birth.

Also interesting is that Hilbert and Godel's work planted a seed that inspired Turing.

I wonder - there are four dragons pictured. Is there a suggestion that a major event influenced by Hilbert happened in four different years of the dragon?

Hilbert's "decision problem" (also known as Entscheidungsproblem), which Turing had worked on, was posed in 1928. I couldn't find the exact day, but as long as it was after January 23, it applies as the year of the dragon.

Also, for sharing purposes, 2012 is Alan Turing Year http://www.turingcentenary.eu/!

 		The quote at the beginning of the email is the beginning of a poem by William Wordsworth, titled "We Are Seven". So, based on the following paragraph, there are only 7 left that are willing to play. Down from the double digits. I'm still working on the puzzle.

 		Okay, just to make sure that I understand what's going on...

This puzzle is missing one piece, shaped like the piece with the question marks on it, that will combine with four of the pieces above to make a word. So, does that mean that only four of the pieces with letters on them are important?
