Just got this from Vlad. I wrote him last night asking for personnel information on Agent "Sirin", and after my IM chat with him that I posted, he sent me this. The body of the email said

I know a White Rabbit, but am unsure of whether the one I know is the same. Considering the other's position, I think they are different, but at this point who knows.

If you move the text on elsa to the side you see three playing cards. Jack of Hearts, Nine of Spades and Ace of Spades.

I believe, that butterfly references pull from the events of Vannessa Atlanta. I didn't play the game[s] personally, but I did look them up.

Oh, I knew ever since the Intueor reference that not only does this link to Vanessa, but Forest as well. Father is was a member of Intueor, and it seems Vlad is as well.
What I was questioning was whether the Handler (WHITE RABBIT) referred to in the elsa document was Forest/Father or another figure. Of course the CARDUI name also seems to point to Vanessa.
Of course, following the Green's interference both have now left the playing field...

{While not entirely significant, especially for those who have not played the past games- The abilities granted by the FWHMeyers Module seems to act similarly to Forest's abilities. Vlad seems to have lost a decent chunk of his humanity in this process however, perhaps Forest's unique status offered him some protection?}

I didn't play F.F.E.Y.-T, but after skimming the thread and reading the summary on the wiki, I can definitely see some similarities. It's been hinted that this game might be a prequel to the other three VA games, but perhaps it's also a prequel to the events of F.F.E.Y.-T. as well? This just continues to get more and more interesting...

Could you elaborate a little more on Forest's abilities, ddl? His character page on the wiki didn't seem to shed much light on the IG character. Also, the Father character doesn't have a page associated with him/it, so I'm a little lost on who or what that is.

ETA: Just some more scraps of information I've come across. Vlad has mentioned that the acronym VS stands for "Veridas Sinople." Sinople can refer to the colors red or green, but is more often used to describe something green, as derived from the rules of heraldry (sinople = "vert".) I've had little luck finding a translation for Veridas, but if we make a slight jump from Veridas to Veritas, it translates from Latin to truth. So, all in all, after a couple assumptions, we get "Green Truth."

Additionally, the link provided in the elsa document leads here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-15200386 This is an interesting story about using computers to detect and translate brain activity. The elsa document says that this information was released "today," meaning that this document was created on the day that the article was released, 9 Oct. It also mentions that questions of morality were intentionally brought to light to obscure the details of where the technology was actually developed, which I take to be Intueor. The end of the document suggests that Agent Sirin has ethical issues to contend with, something that coincides with Vlad's character from previous games.

Finally, after receiving a bit of code on his FB (the ubiquitous "Hello World" script,) Vlad responded with "Old Turnip-top, good-night!" I believe that this is a line from Carroll's Phantasmagoria, a long poem that details a conversation between a ghost and the narrator. I'm sure that this is mostly flavor, but I'd like to keep those not on FB as informed as possible!

The F.F.E.Y-T. wiki was originally composed and the updated during the events of the first chapter. During Part One, Father was an ambiguous character only mentioned in passing by Forest near the end.

He introduced himself to Forest friends by broadcasting videos onto Youtube while Forest slept. Father was also revealed to be the one giving Forest missions and instructions. (He was also a lying bastard, as he told us that he was only involved in the Buchenwald experiments after they had occurred, NOT that his own company/the company he was a part of had funded them.)

At the end, Father was forcibly removed from existence by the Watchman, because he broke the laws of nature by bringing Forest back to life.

Re Forest's abilities: Forest was able to interact with computers on a direct level(think The Matrix, that was the common consensus) during Ch. 1, and at the opening of 2 he was given a wireless connectivity function. It had a learning curve, but it seems to work similar to the Module that Vlad has.

Also, I believe that Father and Forest were connected in ways we still can't fully understand. After Father was first removed from this plane, Forest reverted from 'we' to 'I'.

Thanks for giving us more information on F.F.E.Y.-T, ddl. Now that I know more about Forest and Father, I can definitely see the similarities that you were referring to. The module does sound similar to Forest's abilities, and Vlad's tendency to use 'we' rather than 'I' sounds like it's similar to Forest's method of speaking.

I've asked Vlad on FB about Cardui and White Rabbit. I think he might freak out again like he does when we ask him about Intueor, but it's worth a shot.

Quintus found the ciphered text in the not13 document, and figured out that it's a quote from Alice in Wonderland. Good eyes, though! As far as this newest puzzle, I don't have any immediate ideas about it, but I'm giving it a shot nonetheless. Also, Vlad bugged out again when attempting to answer my questions about Cardui and the White Rabbit, so that's a no go.

Ah, ok. Thanks! I'm gonna take a crack at it too. I mean, first impression just looking at it, it LOOKS like a Dec/Char but that would probably be too easy. It almost seems like this is to sort players out so it probably has a difficulty level of AT LEAST the first Mega Man game.

I talked to Vlad yesterday as well, and received the same documents as everyone else. I had no idea anything was going on beforehand, so most of it is redundant. He told me to post our chat, so here it is:

With the reference to Alice and the chessboard-looking puzzle, I was considering the chess theme described in the wiki article. The theme describes the progression of Through the Looking Glass in terms of chess moves. I am not entirely sure if it is related to the puzzle, but it is a possible lead.

Vladimir has confirmed that we don't need knowledge of the rules of chess or knowledge of Lewis Carroll for the solve. Maurice sent me a chat log where that was revealed, when I get home I'll try to post it.
