Hey, i was thinking, maybe Slenderman is not "the operator", maybe Alex is. If Slendy has been following him since he was a kid, he could be a sort of "chosen one" or something. just a thought i had. "Operator" as in someone who is operating something...like a plan

First post ftw.
Had to join here after seeking for answers.. damn this series is awesome!

I have to say this is a GREAT entry - maybe not my favorite - but nonethless, buckin' awesome.

I had this little idea on my mind after I saw the TTA discussion in this thread...
Y'know when Jay went to Brian's house in season 1?
Tim was there, right?
Has he been in some other locations (such as the hotel in around the entries 30-40) where Jay has visited?
If he has followed Jay everywhere, might it be that Jay is immune to Slender because of visiting "the Ark", and Tim is trying to find that place by following Jay? And that the Mask is not the perfect armor against Operator because we've seen Tim "slender sick" many times before?

I dunno, just some brainfarting I got going on.
And hellooooo.

Not sure Jay has become immune from Ark video.

Not a bad first post, nor a bad theory. I kind of like this idea. It's entirely possible that if The Ark is a place with direct connection to TO, then it may have this kind of effect on people or things that have been there. The only thing I have against it is that it doesn't really feel right, if you know what I mean. Nonetheless, it's a good theory to keep in mind.

Yeah I know that feel.
I too actually had it, now that I think about it. Tim feels more like a guardian than a creep (like Jay lol). As we haven't seen Tim in THAT many places where Jay has been.

This was a great entry and it was definitely cool to go back in the past, but I can't help but feel that this only adds more confusion and questions to the series. That's not necessarily a bad thing though, I just hope we get some connections sometime soon.

I also hope that we get some connections/answers before Season 3. I'd be kind of pissed if the finale left us completely confused as to just what the hell is going on. I definitely don't want all the answers, but I want a minor feeling of closure on the S2 finale. For example, figuring out how Jay ended up at the hotel with Jessica, since that is S2's main premise.

It'd be really lame if that wasn't somehow answered before S3.

I think Brian's comment at 3:30 is pretty interesting. "It seems like this whole film is walking".

This could just be a throwaway statement but I wonder if there's more to it than that. It just seems curious that no one involved with the Marble Hornets production seemed to enjoy being in it or have a very high opinion of it.

Brian : "It seems like this whole film is walking." "What's the point of this shot?"

Tim: "Who wrote that dialogue with you Alex?" "It's a good thing I had nothing to do after this."

Jay: "It was pretty pretentious student fare."

It seems like we're meant to infer that all these "artsy" shots Alex took in Entry 51 was just Alex waiting for the Operator to come "eat" Brian. But was the whole Marble Hornets movie just a ploy for Alex to lure his buds out into the woods (most of the movie DID take place outside) or did Alex legitimately want to make a movie at first? If it's the latter, when did Alex "change"? Jay mentioned that Marble Hornets was an "on and off" production. What prompted the breaks? Alex's apparent paranoia from season 1, or Alex's apparent nefarious behavior from entry 51? Which leads into the final dilemma presented by this entry: was Alex's monologue in entry 22 really just a lie, or was his apparent victimization by the operator accurate? Alex's fear and paranoia in entries 7, 10, 4, and 8 seemed pretty genuine. Perhaps Evil!Alex really is just a slendy controlled persona of Alex, which could explain why Alex withheld this tape: perhaps the Operator itself didn't want Jay to see this tape.

Reading your commetns and does Brian voice our comments when people think about Marble Hornets. Could this be random statement or commentary on all the video.

I've just rewatched all of season 1 and I didn't find anything significant. I was hoping that with the revelations from entry 51 that maybe some scenes from season 1 would make more sense but i guess not.

I just wanted to point out something I found fairly obvious: At some point in Jay's little gap of memory, he kills, or at the very least confronts Alex. He has his strap on chest cam, and they even do parallel shots of each character standing in a vertical bathroom mirror with the cam strapped to their chest, just recording themselves. Alex's time is near over, and I think the next season is going to focus on getting the living cast/maskies together and piece everything together.

One thing I think everyone should consider about the monologue at the end of 22: it didn't necessarily have to be recorded that same night. For all we know, it could've been the last thing filmed in the chronology of the tapes (the contents of entry 51 included).

Things have been presented out of order before after all, especially with this "Alex picking and choosing what's seen" theory: for all we know, he could've been the one that led Jay to the tower, having set it up as an "end all be all" tape after tacking on that monologue to bookend things nicely and have Jay stop digging. He had no idea Jay would do what he did after he got the tapes, so the red tower stunt was to try to stop him possibly.

Tripod. The "School."

I haven't seen this mentioned yet and I don't know if it's at all important, but one thing to consider is that the tripod that Brian was fiddling with may have been holding the camera at the time when the Operator comes to Brian. Also, incidentally, that moment seems to be a freeze frame for Brian when the Operator is standing in the distance....AND frozen on the SAME frame when, for an instant, the Operator is right up next to him in that same position.
For whatever it's worth, the use of the tripod could indicate that Alex (not to mention Tim) might not have been physically present during that take.

Now afterwards, it's strange....because the cam is on the ground and it appears NOT to be on the tripod any more (and indeed, not again). Even though the Operator was right up next to Brian, it's Brian who is still there when he wakes up, and it's Alex who's NOT.

I think it's fair to guess that when Brian was standing against the wall, he didn't see the Operator. The freeze-frame in fact makes it seem that the Operator was there for just a split second, or that he moves faster than the camera can pick him up moving. So when we see him clearly the 2nd time, it's the first time Brian has found him.

OK...the other thing in my mind is the use of the term "School" for this place. Apparently in real life it used to be a hospital, but the thing that's important is that ALEX calls it a school, whatever it used to be in-story. And it's got classrooms, places probably for tutoring sessions; Tim's in one. I bet it has other classrooms with other old friends, as well. It's a replacement, maybe, for Brian's old house; the small closet where Tim used to sleep has been changed for this new cubby-hole.

Brian found Tim just at the time when Tim's current therapy session was due to start.

Now I don't know who was dragging Brian's body later, but we do know that Tim was present in the same little room moments before tall and skinny showed up, and that eventually the tape was in Joe's ... whoops, I mean, Alex's possession, so it's likely that it was one of those two.

What I guess I mean about the tripod was that while the tripod was being used for that shot against the wall, Alex might have been away, either calling or alerting Tim or Slendy to get into place, or preparing a nice cozy blanket for Timbo, or cleaning Seth's tank, or some such...

Alex calls the place a school because a) Brian doesn't know what it was or is, and b) he's about to go all veggie on us and so it doesn't matter what the hell he says to Brian.
