Oh

I'm kinda new to the site so I don't get all the close knit humor just yet.

Regarding Amy, yeah, it's much more likely that she is alive somewhere. I like to imagine that Alex pushed her out of the window and killed her and hid her somehow but that would be way too noticeable and implausible.

I still have nothing for the warping though which is important unless they wanna "LOST" us. (which they won't, hopefully)

I also believe that both maskies are Tim and Bryan. I believe they're alive (not hollowed) and that they're also TTA. (maybe some people think this is obvious or not right now, it's hard to tell outside of my biased group of friends).

Perhaps the ark is the burned building. There are many odd references to fire in MH: Jay's apartment burning down, Alex's lighter in the same place as the burned building tape, the burned building itself, the convict's dead bodies being burned on the tree, the painting behind their heads when filming at Seth's house (not sure who's house).

I don't believe TO "hollowed" anyone. I believe Alex was a sociopath since a young age (the birthday video) and that he had been resisting the urge to kill (TO) for a long time as seen by him running from TO and trying to warn Jay (or whoever) with his writings and drawings.

Since you're new, and you seem to be pliable, please try and type out the Operator instead of TO. Razz

Try to avoid using Slenderman or Slendy too. When someone coughs, doesn't call it Slendy sickness.

Is that true etiquette here? Yeahhh, it's easy to tell I'm new. I've been lurking a bunch because you guys make each entry worth discussing and thinking about. I figured I'd finally chime in.

Not really, because there isn't much etiquette upheld around here, but it makes less confusion to think of the Marble Hornets big as the Operator, instead of everyone else's Slendy.

People like to complain about people calling him Slender Man, and for some reason people don't like TO. It's not like "Slendy" is anymore inaccurate than "Masky". Call him whatever the hell you want. I personally prefer ThinChap.

Just wondering... if Amy is the one who re-awakens this Dark Passenger, and Alex has otherwise forgotten about killing, how does him sending a tape to Jay just as Jay is about to give up his investigation come into play? Judging by the video in which Jay and Alex are chatting about how easy it is to find the latter, it almost sounds like Alex has been keeping tabs on him. If that's the case, then it doesn't seem likely that it was only Amy who sprung him back into killer mode.

I've sort of fallen off the horse in regards to being able to cite entries from memory, but I after poking around the channel again, it looks like it's #36 where Alex tells Jay that he knew what hotel he was in and what room he was in, and tells him that he's not hard to find.

Of course, it's sort of ambiguous. It could be that there was some interim deliverer of the tape, but Alex doesn't seem surprised that the tape with the events of #26 got to Jay, nor was he surprised to see Jay in #25, so I'm assuming that Alex is the one that mailed it off. I don't know... I suppose it could still fit into your theory, given that after he killed Amy, he went to look up Marble Hornets and found Jay broadcasting all of his old videos to everyone. But it seems more likely to me that he was keeping tabs on Jay the entire time, and that mitigates or negates the thought that Alex was completely unaware of everything Operator-related.

It might be more likely that he was laying low, keeping tabs on Jay and what he was posting, and tried to kill Amy when she was exposed to the Operator. Maybe when he realized he could kill two birds with one stone, he reached out to Jay to help him find Amy, so that Alex would know where both of them were to kill 'em?

I hold with the idea that Alex killed both Amy and Brian, (not to mention Seth), that Tim was lucky to escape with his life for reasons unknown, and that Masky and Hoody are likely Tim and either Jay or Jessica. Since they're the only ones that are present obviously in the second season (Brian shows up specifically in an old tape that would otherwise have been in the first season, even if OOG they had him back recently!) it seems more likely that they're behind the masks.

As for this Dark Passenger theory in general, what's that term from? I haven't heard it used before. It seems to me that the Operator is probably a confluence of Alex's troubled-through-to-outright-psychotic behavior with a force that can't really be quantified (for the sake of the narrative; the undefined spooky horror element.) The Operator is definitely not just a figment of Alex's personality come to life, I think. (They weave elements of a a long time being associated with the Operator in #37, with the numbers that flash on the birthday video, and with Alex's speech in #38 about old murderers et all.)

...But it's unclear whether his influence is what's warped Alex, or whether the Operator was attracted to something sinister that he found in Alex from a young age.

In the book and show Dexter, the title character describes the "Dark Passenger" as a very strong compulsion to kill. Sorry for not clearing up the analogy for everyone who isn't into those series haha

On the topic of Amy supossedly being killed at the house I would like to point out something intresting I noticed in the Entry where Jay and Alex go back to that house (I think it's #43). For most of the scene there is a bird (I couldn't tell what kind, but it looked like a scavanger) circling in the background behind the house. It stays there, slowly circling over the trees for a fair amount of time. I don't know if that was supposed to be part of the clip or if it was just a conincidince (I don't know how they would have set it up) but it gave me a very omonious feeling, and if Amy was already dead it may have been circling the body.

Yes, well, it was one of the things I noticed when watching that entry, and I was kind of superised no one else seemed to pick up on it when I looked at some of the comments/forums. Then agian I missed things that were quite ovbioous when others posted them, so...

Anyways, I would love to know what happened to Jessica, but all that hinges on weather Masky is a 'proxy' or not. Wasn't he the last guy she was seen with?

This theory might have some merit somewhere... but I really feel that comparing MH to this trainwreck of a franchise is doing Troy and Joseph a disservice.
