I don't pay too much attention to them either. They're a bit boring to me, and don't really make me laugh like the other videos on the channel. Can't hate that they wanna put out content and are doing things they wanna do though, but yeah, I can see why it'd a bit frustrating to see instead of a bigger THAC video or MH video.

I guess it's good that there's something for everyone to enjoy, with multiple series and videos available to watch.

I don't think it really detracts from MH in any way. Look at them. They're really short, probably pretty damn easy to make, and as you said, clearly don't have a lot of thought behind them. They're just short things they make during some spare time. Do you really think that the time spent on these significantly affects precious MH time?

Honestly, THAC is just a way for them to keep themselves sane after creating Marble Hornets which has been depressing since Introduction Entry.

You can have that opinion. Just know, the people who do like it, will most likely ignore you. Razz

Honestly, they started out pretty funny, but after making a whole bunch of them, the joke is starting to get a bit old.

I think that while the actual "nature facts" have gotten a bit old-

gets horrifically murdered by Craig Digsby the user

- seeing him fumble around during the title and closing sequences is still worth it. Not as good as the regular THAC stuff, but nice for a quick laugh.

I think the best part of the NB videos is the theme music. I dunno why, but that would make a funny ringtone or an alarm tone.

Not really a huge fan of THAC. Never got the humor. But I do think it's cool that they're successful with something that they clearly enjoy doing. I've never seen one of these "nature" videos, though.

I'm a fan of some of the "Nature Breaks"--the "dirt" and "ancient ruins" installments cracked me up (especially when Craig Digsby started picking up handfuls of dirt and stuffing them in his trouser pockets). I think they work better as little vignettes to hold together a sketch show or something. If THAC were, say, a 45-minute sketch show, a couple of "Nature Breaks" throughout would work better. They're sort of like the "Deep Thoughts by Jack Handey" that ran on SNL in the Nineties.

I think their short absurdist films are pretty good. Joseph Listens to Jazz is darkly funny, and despite whatever shortcomings Joseph's monotone delivery have (I think he has a lot of pretty good acting moments throughout MH, actually), he's a really good physical actor. Also liked the promo they made for some comic convention, "Troy Takes a Trip," where
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Tim and Joseph sneak up behind Troy and try to abduct him as a joke, but accidentally snap his neck, and stuff his corpse in the car and head out anyway
.

Then again, I think the all-time greatest comedy skit, at least in English, is either The Kids in the Hall's "Daddy Drank" or the Pythons' "Philosophical Football," so I don't know what else to say. But the MH guys do a pretty great job for filmmakers who are still semi-pro at best (I believe).

I think they release the Nature Breaks because they're short, funny, easy to create, and something to keep content consistent. That being said, I think the newest one was my favorite. I never got the Ruins segment, but I enjoyed the ending.
