Given that the stabbed girl survived and seems to be healing up (thank goodness), I'd be surprised if this remains in the headlines for more than a week. (And it doesn't seem to have been front page news to begin with.)

Would be kind of appropriate to put an entry out on the 5th anniversary of the series beginning, actually. Possibly the guys might take the opportunity to start shooting the next entry as well so that the delay doesn't hit the DVD timeline too hard.

I think the two girls responsible for the attack have a hearing on the 11th. Unless they can't come to a verdict I'd say that's the last we'll hear about it for a long time. Around a week after that is the anniversary so that would be a prime time to release it as well as being around a month since #85's release so the schedule wouldn't be that badly hit.

EDIT: As for the filming of the next entry between now and #86's release Sad I hate to be a party pooper but I strongly think that spare time will be allocated to Nature Break filming or another Dos-O-rama.

WAITING WITH BATED BREATH FOR THE PENULTIMATE AND ULTIMATE INSTALLMENTS IN THE TOM AND JERRY TRILOGY! (Because Troy and Tim said that more was coming.)

As for the hearing... I expect the girls to have a lawyer who will plead this down and get them psychological evaluations and treatment, maybe some time in a juvenile detention center. There wouldn't be a verdict at a hearing this early on. The hearing would be either the arraignment at which they'd be formally charged or a pretrial hearing to determine the appropriate case law and even the appropriate charges to be filed. If the victim survives, I see a short trial (which still may not come till next calendar year) and maybe even some sort of plea bargain.

Did they say there was more than one? :O

I'm not familiar with the law in my own country, nevermind the US :L but if what you say is true the story is bound to fluctuate in and out of the media as developments are made with proceedings. But like awakeasaurusrex said once the initial panic is over MH should resume as normal as I doubt the coverage will exceed that of when this whole mess started.

The only thing I can think of about the story is when the girls go on trial and sparks it up again. Otherwise in a week or so the general population will forget about it.

Tim and Troy said that the T&J DOS-a-rama would be broken up into three parts. What was filmed (and if I remember correctly, Tim didn't stop playing the game) was already almost an hour, and Tim said something about how he went on further. The three-parts thing coulda been some ironic exaggeration.

I highly doubt Holy Joe Lieberman (Connecticut Senator who made a big name for himself as a moral crusader when he railed against violent video games in the early '90s) will come out of retirement for this. I really expect a plea from these girls. As long as the victim recovers, all three will ultimately have a shot at some kind of life.

EDIT: I anticipate Entry #86 by the Summer Solstice.

Oh you were talking about the DOS-a-rama, thought you were on about entries :L

I hope they do have a shot a normal life, this whole thing should never have happened and I think they know that. Once they get older and the fact that Slenderman isn't real hit home I think they'll truly realize what they've done.

Come on man Razz I doubt it

this story has gone around Europe as well though. It was on the radio here the other day, but didn't make television news.

probably, I mean it was bigger in the US and only really made it in the tail-end of the broadcasts in Ireland.

I was going to go on a tangent of how some people look to blame some other things but the authors of the crimes themselves but, nah.

I think Trosephim should've really put their foot down on it and release their entry or whatever it was what they were going to release (Unless, though it involves stabing, that would attract negative attention), i know they are being sensitive but this is something that has nothing to do with that awful event. NOTHING, the victim is now recovering and the criminals are being judged. End of story

Right--Trosephim, Marble Hornets, Victor Surge, the Slender Mythos... NONE of that has anything to do with this at all. But the trio has decided to hold off a bit, and I think that's a good thing. One, it gives the situation a chance to cool down. Two, it gives all the girls involved a chance to move on, whether it's the victim recovering or the suspects to get plead down. Three, I'm not sure if you're in the U.S., but I am, and let me tell you that if you think a lawsuit or any other action against THAC or others, who are totally innocent of any involvement, could not be forthcoming, you should remember that this is the country where a woman sued McDonald's because her hot coffee was hot AND RECEIVED A SETTLEMENT IN THE HIGH SIX-FIGURES!!! I really could see someone somewhere trying to build a case to sue, and even when it's ultimately dismissed, it could delay the completion of the MH project considerably enough.

Personally, I hope we get an unspoilerly screenshot before the end of the lunch break I'm writing this on. But I except Troy et al. to wait at least a week, maybe two.

I get the sensitivity thing, but I think the only real reason to hold back when taking into consideration how small MH's audience is would be if the entry actually has an uncomfortable resemblance to the real life stuff.

Also worth noting that the hot coffee woman had actually had a point, according to what I've read- it wasn't just hot, it was excessively hot past the point where it was even safe to drink. Not that that undermines your point necessarily, but that particular example isn't *quite* as silly as people think.
