Actually, yes, the hot coffee woman DID have a point.

Also worth noting that the hot coffee woman had actually had a point, according to what I've read- it wasn't just hot, it was excessively hot past the point where it was even safe to drink. Not that that undermines your point necessarily, but that particular example isn't *quite* as silly as people think.

It's not so much about the temp (though I have noticed that since the early '90s, when this happened, coffee has gotten a lot less hot even from McD's and Dunk's [Dunkin' Donuts to those of you not from the Northeast], and that's a very good thing). The lid was defective, and the drone who put it on didn't care to put it on tightly. But I also remember it setting off a chain reaction of similar litigation that was settled up on much more questionable foundations. I also remember the Seinfeld spoof.

And, yes, I wouldn't be surprised if there were a striking similarity in one of the final entries to that event in Wiscaaaahhhhnnnsin. That striking similarity has shown up before in MH, though not to that degree or with that intended end. But I also think that regardless, just holding back for a week or two is the prudent thing to do.

I mean,

Jesus Christ, they just burned down their porch for a scene in which one character told the other character to "do the right thing and die" in the fire
. All that's needed is for a Glenn Beck wannabe to jump on this, and then for Alex Jones to head to the woods overnight with a small crew to get to the bottom of this "false flag" in some sort of perverse parallel of The Last Broadcast to find the real Slenderman that the Bildenberg Group is covering up with Obamacare funds. (Don't anyone jump on me for the goddamn false flag joke, either, because I'm a proud Bostonian and remember what that idjit said about the Marathon bombings; I could see him trying again--I bet he tries to decode the TTA videos to find out how the Illuminati's trying to inaugurate the New World Order. He's an idjit and I can still lampoon the hell out of him.)

Ah yes, that was brilliant.

Yes he is and please continue to do so.

Story time, did you know you can put the lid on a coffee backwards? Used to work at a coffee shop a few years back. If a customer was a true dick, we would put the lid on backwards (so the sippy part is even with the crease on the cup) and heat the milk 10 degrees hotter. This would cause it to drip when they took that first, scalding sip. Yeah, we probably should have got sued for that. Do note this was reserved for the customers who cut the line, demanded their drink was made before customers who were there first, demand free flavorings etc.

On topic though, if this is the tim/alex faceoff we've been waiting for, there's a really good chance it involves knives or guns in the woods and someone getting stabbed or shot with slendy taking them away. Which would be incredibly insensitive to release the day a girl got stabbed in the woods.

Also Joker speaks the truth, just like a lot of people here really do say minnesoooooootah. Sometimes the stereotypes don't lie lol

Hot coffee lady didn't have a point. Yes, the coffee was hot. She didn't have a cup holder, knew she didn't have a cup holder, and placed the coffee between her legs. Common sense would tell anyone that if you put a cup of coffee, that is in a paper cup, between your legs, while you are driving, shit is going to happen and you are going to get coffee on your lap. She was paid for being retarded.

I
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
know--I lived in Chicago for three years before moving home. Some in Chicago have a strikingly similar accent, only more nasally and staccato, my friend (imagine me holding my nose and try talking out my eyeballs as I say that). About the only thing I miss (beside an occasional walk through the Loop because one thing Chicago did right is preserving more of its historic downtown than Boston did) are the braaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaats.

I kid too, but I couldn't help myself (though, seriously, I'm soooooooooooooooooo glad to be out of Chicago).

If you heard me talk with my bastard Boston/North Shore (part of Greater Boston)/Northeastern Pennsylvania accent with a little bit of Chicago inflection, you might not understand everything I said. Even some here think I'm wicked incoherent.

I don't have anything against Wisconsin. I just can't help myself. (Actually, I like the Badgers and'll take the Brewers over the Cubs any damn day--but no one beats my Red Sox.) I loved Lewis Black's bit when he started a show in Madison about you guys and your alcohol tolerance. "You certainly do fucking know how to drink! Jesus Christ! Do you have some sort of government grant?"

It's a regional accent and dialect thing. Just as people from where I'm from still tend to drop the r at the end of words having it (one way of practicing an Eastern New England accent is to say "Pahk thah cah in thah cahpahk" until you sound like Matt Damon in "Good Will Hunting" or "The Departed"--although despite the fact that he's a native, he does an awful Boston accent) and to add it words that end with an a (e.g., you pay for things with yer Viser). It was a jab, albeit one made in fun.

But Park doesn't end in 'r' it ends in 'k', but if you dropped the 'k' it would be like parrrrr. Pak is just weird tho. I don't remember how Matt Damon sounds other than American.

I think Trosephim should've really put their foot down on it and release their entry or whatever it was what they were going to release (Unless, though it involves stabing, that would attract negative attention), i know they are being sensitive but this is something that has nothing to do with that awful event. NOTHING, the victim is now recovering and the criminals are being judged. End of story

Right--Trosephim, Marble Hornets, Victor Surge, the Slender Mythos... NONE of that has anything to do with this at all. But the trio has decided to hold off a bit, and I think that's a good thing. One, it gives the situation a chance to cool down. Two, it gives all the girls involved a chance to move on, whether it's the victim recovering or the suspects to get plead down. Three, I'm not sure if you're in the U.S., but I am, and let me tell you that if you think a lawsuit or any other action against THAC or others, who are totally innocent of any involvement, could not be forthcoming, you should remember that this is the country where a woman sued McDonald's because her hot coffee was hot AND RECEIVED A SETTLEMENT IN THE HIGH SIX-FIGURES!!! I really could see someone somewhere trying to build a case to sue, and even when it's ultimately dismissed, it could delay the completion of the MH project considerably enough.

Personally, I hope we get an unspoilerly screenshot before the end of the lunch break I'm writing this on. But I except Troy et al. to wait at least a week, maybe two.

You can't just kill someone with a machete in a Jason mask and sue the creators of the movie for "brainwashing." It doesn't work that way. If they were to be sued, they would win without question, I doubt it would even make it to court.

No, that's very true. BUT you CAN tie people up in court proceedings and litigation (which really could exceed their budget for all three seasons up to date). A speedy trial comes slowly. You can also wreck their personal image. The THAC boys are right about playing it just a bit safe.

Surprised

I realize I mistyped. The Eastern New England accent is non-rhotic, meaning that the final R is dropped usually. Though if we talk posh we sound like John Kerry and may preserve it. That takes some training, though--otherwise, if we try to lose the accent, we talk like Canadians.

Haha, it's not weird as in a name or something, depending on ethnicity, but instead of saying "Park". "I'm going to the pak to play"

It's my sisters initials, now that I think of it.

I dont' think my friend'd care, anyway. She's back in Korea now. Has more important things to worry about.
