I think he probably was always obsessed with his drawings but only recently had the THAC channel as an outlet for them.

My favourite parts of dos-o-rama was when they show young Tim with his spelling bee trophy and in 4d boxing when Joseph says "they don't even give a fuck about you"

oh and that one bit with the weird uncle in the 2nd tom and jerry episode.

dos-o-rama is their best series imo

I wish they woulda showed the "Top Gun" episode anyway. That game's abysmally bad.

It's all over Tumblr by now. Tim went ahead and posted some name suggestions: http://timsutton.tumblr.com/post/91035125182/so-apparently-troy-s-gonna-be-a-daddy-your-thoughts

Wasn't sure which thread this really belongs in, but I ventured into the Something Awful thread on MH to see what people are saying over there and found that Joseph is apparently being quite talkative there right now. And there's one tidbit in particular that I think would interest everyone who played Slender: The Arrival:

Quote:
Not to say it would have saved the game if they had handled it differently, but they used like 10% of what we gave them and goofed on a bunch of it they did use. They put an arbitrary hard deadline on when to push it out the door and it shows.

So yeah. Apparently STA butchered Trosephim's intended plot for the game or something. Discuss.

I'm not sure what he's even talking about. Save what? "The Arrival" was enormously successful & I thought the story was frankly handled better than Marble Hornets.

So I don't know if that means that it could have been EVEN BETTER or if it means that Parsec knows when to cut ideas.

Though, definitely, a flaw in the game is its length, & the fact that it keeps re-releasing the same damn thing with slightly more story. Though maybe some of the stuff that was cut could have been setup for legitimate sequels, because at this point, I don't know where he plans to go with it.

Overall, though, I think the gameplay is more of a problem than the story.

Also, do you have a link to the thread? I'm kind of interested in seeing what Joseph is saying, especially because he seems to be the most generally responsive to feedback.

I'm not sure either. I mean I had some issues with the pre-Steam-update story, but I liked it. No way of knowing if it would have been "better" if they stuck to whatever the original vision was, but apparently it would at least have been different.

He's not really giving real responses to feedback on the SA thread for the most part as far as I saw, but here you go: http://forums.somethingawful.com/showthread.php?threadid=3467771&userid=0&perpage=40&pagenumber=106

Thanks. Weird thread. I feel a lot less bad about the things I've posted here. Unless I'm missing some kind of context, a lot of these comments are pretty dickish & Joseph isn't really reacting to them.

Yes, the Steam update certainly tied up a lot of loose ends, but even before that, it basically made sense & it's pretty impressive that it made me concerned about characters with so little information behind them.

Oh, but if you want a real response to the feedback: http://josephdelage.tumblr.com/post/90640930564/are-you-expecting-fans-to-surround-in-anger-because-of

Has anyone posted this already? He actually discusses his thoughts on the ending in detail here, so that's cool.

Nailed it.

Thank you, that was enlightening.

If I could sum up my thoughts, they would be:

A. That is literally every lame excuse that he could have given. It is so lame that he actually says so himself.

B. So I wasn't supposed to give a shit about the plot after all & that justifies being jerked around for 133 videos. Fool me once, shame on you, won't be fooling me twice, 'cause I've stopped by this point.

Can I return the favor & not hold this against them? You know, I don't really know. They clearly weren't trying to irritate anyone, but at the same time, if it was "never about the answers" why the fuck did you not say that until now?!

Pretty much, yeah, though I disagree with him that the majority of the people complaining about it are those spoonfed by Hollywood (many obviously are, just as many defenders of their favorite series right or wrong are giving the sycophantic fanboy reaction, but "many" is a rather nebulous number). Even some of us who liked it and defend the series--and have been basically saying all along that the flawed characters and conjectures and junk--think that they could have tied a couple of things together better or fleshed a couple of things out more.

That said, I'm standing by my belief that there's far more revealed visually in Marble Hornets and that a couple of view-throughs of the series should help to reveal some. THAT said, I'm waiting till I get my box set (I kicked into the Kickstarter) before I rewatch all but either my favorite entries or those entries that have been the most confounding. Now that it's over and I have no new entries to look forward to, and as Unfiction's become a bit less fun since the show ended, I feel kind of... I dunno... as if there's been a great release. I need to put a little time between MH and me.

I'll agree that it's not the best statement he could have made. It almost reminds me of what happened at one of my favorite burger joints when the owner's daughter was put in charge of the Yelp responses and basically retorted "FUCK you! Git'cher ass to McDONald's, you pus!"

I think in Joseph's case, though, he was probably aiming at the people who aren't making thoughtful objections. Whereas the daughter of the owner of the burger place... There's a word, but I shouldn't write it.

When did they ever say it was about the answers? They never ONCE asked themselves any of the questions some here expected them to have answered. What happened on the set of Marble Hornets? What happened to the cast? What happened to Amy? What happened to Jessica? All the questions they actually asked were answered.

What should they have asked about the Operator? What could they have asked? Hell, they didn't even remember him half the time, and they talked about him even less. He was unfathomable, unapproachable, could be resisted but never overcome, apparently amoral, with purposes that may or may not have been comprehensible but which he never expressed in any way. Yes, a perfectly conventional horror series would have explained something about him. This was not a conventional horror series. Why anyone expected it to adhere to the tropes of conventional horror I have no idea.
