Meh, usually this kinda thing would bug me but it kinda suits Tim. Plus I kinda don't care and if he appears in th new series as a different character it'll be easier to separate him from Tim Wright. If we can survive the shaving of the Sutton-chops, we can survive this.

I think there's no Morningstar Sinclair without it. It lends an air both of gravity and of professorial douchiness to the character. (Saying this as someone who has actually spent too much time on both sides of the podium.)

And to whoever remarked on Sinclair's lack of charm: He has a kind of charmless charm in being so unknowledgable and so hot-headed, that I think is great.

Right? But while immersion isn't a problem for me per say, it's hard to see Tim playing an douch-ey character, given how he's so awesome.

ModEdit: Changed YouTube BBCode to URL since the inline video code does not support HTTPS and link uses a timecode.

So THAC's Patreon page has already reached its first milestone, which apparently means that we'll be getting an official THAC forum soon.

It's not for me because he's not only a fine actor but pretty gifted (as all three of them are) in ironic humor and sarcasm, which was sort of a trademark of Tim the character's interaction with Jay. Frankly, I like to see him break out and play a shit or two. Anything to show range.

Thing I'm concerned about is that during Marble Hornets, THAC was kinda a "hidden thing" and it really kept the illusion of MH being "real" really solid. Now with a follow up to the series (which may or may not share the channel), it may ruin any immersion given the more openness of the goofiness that is THAC.

Okay, maybe I'm wrong, but I thought 'immersion' was only a thing in regards to ARGs here. Since this new series (presumably) won't even pretend to be one of those, so what if THAC is common knowledge? How does that affect anything? I mean, can you not enjoy Johnny Depp's Portrayal of Sweeny Todd because you know he also played Jack Sparrow?

Calling it now: Craig Digsby and Morningstar Sinclair are gonna be actual characters in the new horror series. They'll need a forest expert to track down the Operator, for sure.

Also, I agree with SilentMedusa, THAC's popularity shouldn't be a problem, there's a thing called "willing suspension of disbelief". If you can't do it to enjoy THAC's new horror series, you might just not be worthy of it.

And, honestly, how much fuckin' immersion can be pristinely preserved for either series or the more ARG vlogs when the cast and crew frequent the comic and gamer con circuit?

As for Johnny Depp: my favorite role of his was William Blake in Dead Man. Now THERE'S a film about immersion!

Naw. All four of the boys either can act or have particular skills that allow them to fake it through. If the production and direction and writing are anywhere near the best of Marble Hornets, they'll be fine, and no one will care much about that.

I liked the movie where Johnny Depp played a cooky, eccentric character with a crazy sense of style.....

I don't think immersion should be that much of a problem, I can understand why they would put the new series on the channel for broadcast purposes but I believe they're going to try their best so it doesn't look out of place, so far the teaser makes it look awesome, they've really upped their game on effects.

The effects are looking sharp, yes. I just hope it premieres soon. I really underestimated the withdrawal of having no more Marble Hornets to anticipate.

Back atcha Razz I can't wait to go there.

Also since this a THAC thread, Tim posted an update on the Blu-ray, stating the new series will start "sooner than you think."
And let's face it, we're all thinking April 4th right?
Inb4 April 1st upload to reverse troll everyone.
