That's the first thing I thought when I saw the image, actually.
I'm thinking the tape could be what happened after the Operator walked in.

 		I just went back through the entries. In Entry 54, none of them were wearing sneakers in that style, and it seemed like a wall to wall carpeting type apartment. In Entry 26 (Amy's place) there is hardwood floors, and a similar look to the walls, but Alex is wearing socks so that wouldn't be Alex's foot, unless it was a different ocassion maybe. It could very well be "Brian's house" from Season 1, as that seemed to have hardwood floors throughout the first floor. Doesn't really narrow down anything much, but there's not much to go by.
