No, no, sorry, You didn't do anything wrong. I was just a little Teed off at OnyxW's response to my post. You had a few good leads, it's a shame that they didn't seem to go anywhere. Keep posting! Smile

And let us not forget we have two OnyxW's out there as well. The message that upset AnthraX must have come from the evil twin. Twisted Evil

No, it was me. Sorry about the thing I wrote, I haven't noticed it. I've changed to this name so nobody will think I'm the other one.
(I'll keep the other name registered so you won't think he's me either).

What are JIFs and how do you open them?

I am not sure what a JIF is, but a GIF is an image file. JFIF is the name of a particular identifying header in a JPG image file. Were you perhaps referring to one of those image formats? Most anything that can handle graphics will be able to open a GIF or JPG: a web browser, Photoshop, etc.

EDIT: Nevermind, I now see what you were referring to. As far as I know, JIFS is not a commonly (if at all) used file extension.

Ok a new guy question : I want to spec about Caretaker and Red Knight given the information to date. Do i do that here? Do I use spoilers or not ? because I will just be posting and explaining my ideas.

I think we could make some reasonable guesses based on the info we've got. It would help get people up to speed, pass the time and other good things.

Also, I have some ideas about where the story will go and what may happen next. these are simply predictions that may well be completely wrong, do I use spoilers?

SHould we start a thread where everyone has to make some decisions based on the available info?

This is a way to make progress, even if we are wrong, we will have thought throught the problem and been forced to make a choice.

Specs would be subject to new information being available.

Your bud,
ROse

Rose these questions are ones best discussed in the General/Update section.
Speculation needs no spoilers, that is mainly for puzzle solutionsto allow others to continue working on them but still be able to get pointers if they get hung up on part of it.

Oooops and a question

Sorry. I think I erred when switching browsers to post.

To the cryptographers and puzzle experts, can 8141 with 8=j and 4= f,h,v,y or w be a basis for decoding the crossword clue number pairs?

Rose
