Wow, now that was an awesome entry. Tim is a goddamn hero! Also, kudos to Jay for trying to punch out the Operator--probably kind of stupid, but epic in any case.

So, as far as I can see, the reason that Alex just sent Jay home on their earlier trip to Rosswood was that he realized that Jessica had become involved, hence the "how are things with Jessica" question, so he needed to take them both out.

Regarding Tim acting normal--let's not forget that Tim acted pretty normal in #15 too. As I theorized before, it's likely that Masky is a second personality of Tim's, as he would need to be able to act normal at some times in order to buy food and so forth. Of course, if Tim really IS normal that means he can't have posted any of the recent TTA entries, so that leaves open who's controlling that account. But what seems likely to me is that Masky is still a part of Tim.

The burning question now is whether Alex is alive--we do hear a gunshot, but we don't know if anyone was hit or if the gun fired into the ceiling during the struggle. It's possible that Alex was injured, or even that Tim was(he's had many months to recover), but I don't think it's likely that Alex was killed. My reasoning is that after all this time his body would likely have been discovered by now if it was simply left there, and I'm not sure Masky has the mental wherewithal to know that he should bury the body. And there's no way Jay would miss the murder being reported, so Alex is probably still around.

Regarding the question on how the last footage ended up in the safe, I decided to give it a try and ask Jay the question directly on twitter. 99% chance he won't respond, but I figured there's no harm in giving it a shot.

What was the point of the Jay teleportation in the first place, now that I think about it.

@Biohazard80 My first thought was that, that Jay did it, but the fact that he put the tripod back up without going to Jessica's room to check on her suggested to me that he had already lost his memories of those seven months which would mean he wouldn't know the code to put it back in the safe. *shrugs* But you're right when you're loopy like that you can do crazy stuff without even realizing it.

Btw, anyone else curious on why Alex would use gun all of a sudden? He seemed to prefer rocks or Slendy himself before this. Another thing, did Alex always have the gun or did he buy it just for the occasion? And if he always had it, did Jay not find it during the searches or did Alex have it on him the whole time? So many unanswered questions that will most likely never be answered -_-

It's possible that after his encounter with the Op, Jay was in a brief state resembling anterograde amnesia, the condition where one is unable to form new long-term memories. Perhaps he found the camera with a fully recorded tape in it, changed the tape, but within a few minutes found himself with a tape in his hand and no idea where it came from, only a vague awareness that "tapes belong in the safe" -- or even holding the tape and with his last (fleeting) memory being of putting tapes into the safe.
