Well, the Operator can snatch people in their sleep, like he did to Alex (unless Alex died in his sleep and the Operator just took his corpse). Maybe being snatched by the Operator is a fate worse than death.

Alex realized that his student film sucked, and performed an occult ritual to get a friendly spirit to help him with the film. Only instead of a helpful spirit he got the Operator. The ritual tied the Operator to the filming of the student film, which is why he kept appearing in the background. Alex realized that since the Operator was tied into the filming that the only way to escape was to abandon his student film project. But the ritual also tied the Operator to the camera he used for the film, which is why he appeared when Amy started using it.

Alex got the ritual from Tim, which is why Tim is stalking him, and why Tim knows stuff.[/quote]

I think the Operator saw them location scouting and showed up to see some filming. That's why they had to ask him to move one time. However what he saw was so bad he followed Alex around trying to make him rewrite it. When that didn't work he tried to Operate the whole crew to make the film better...but people are such fragile things...

 		Well, I was this entry last night and pretty much threw up everywhere because of how excited and anxious I was. I have some problems to be worked out. Anyways, I don't have much to say except for holy-fucking-shit. I don't have any crazy theories or anything. I kind of do think Alex is dead though, or at least loong gone. Also, I can't can't caaaaaan't wait another 7 months, MH crew. Don't do that to me again! D:

 		Haven't posted in a while on uF. Oh well.
Only complaint: I was really wishing Tim would have some more dialogue. Not just as Masky, but as himself and that would tie in somehow to the memory loss. Although, that wouldn't really make sense.

Now we just wait until Entry #77 (assuming the 26 entry season lengths)

 		Last time I was on here I read only up to about page 15 or so, so sorry if this was mentioned.

I don't think Alex was killed, but perhaps he was wounded by that gunshot. That's why we haven't seen or heard from him in such a long time, due to this serious wound.

To add to this, maybe that's why Tim appears to be acting normal now. He thought Alex was killed by the gun shot but was only seriously wounded.

You may very well be correct in your opinion/assessment--the bottle tree may not be of any significance whatesoever.I agree that there are many people on this forum that over-analyze things--but with all due respect--I am usually not one of them--if at all.

Edit to answer poster above me--upon watching the 'fixed' entry #52,I myself saw no difference between the first and second.
