Slender Man Vlog Tier List/Rankings

 		Slender Man Vlog Tier List/Rankings
Just my opinion, feel free to post your own
I got this idea from a Tribe Twelve vs. Marble Hornets thread over on the MH board. Now, I'll be the first to admit I haven't seen nearly all of the Slender Man vlogs out there, but I think I've seen pretty much all of them worth seeing. Here's where I think they all fall into place.

God Tier

1. Marble Hornets

Let's face facts. Marble Hornets is always going to hold a special place among Slendy vlogs. They did it first, and in a lot of ways they're still the best. I can't speak for any of you guys, but I know as soon as I saw the head snap in Entry 1 The Slender Man when from being a shit brix/creepypasta creature to the most terrifying thing I'd seen in a long time. A lot of us probably wouldn't be on this board if not for Marble Hornets.

Awesome Tier

2. Tribe Twelve

3. Everyman HYBRID

In my estimation, Everyman HYBRID is starting to get a bit too convoluted for its own good. I really like the idea and for a while it was absolutely sweet, great scares and a nice deviation from Marble Hornets. The characters were really endearing and the plot wasn't too complex yet. But now we have EMH vs. Slendy, EMH vs. Rake, EMH vs. HABIT, the Corenthal/four kids mystery, Jessa missing, Steph's role, Evan slowly going batshit crazy, and what exactly happened during "A Day in the Life." And they're not keeping them balanced. Eventually they're probably going to drop at least one of the plot lines before too long in attempt to salvage the others. If they do manage to tie them all together I'll be really impressed.

Tribe Twelve on the other hand, went the opposite direction. It started off as a blatant MH ripoff, but really came into it's own with amazing effects and the tentacles FTW. Noah's acting has gotten a great deal better, and the plot has really came into its own with the Grandpa Karl/Groppman business. Plus, in my estimation Tribe Twelve is the best pure Slender Man story. EMH isn't about Slender Man anymore. MH is practically more about Masky/Alex at this point. Tribe Twelve is still pretty much all about The Slender Man.

Promising Tier

4. Andersen Journals

5. Dark Harvest

6. Angel's Game

Since these three are pretty much the "next gen" of Slendy vlogs, I figured it would be best to group them together. Andersen Journals shows so much promise, between the level of acting and the more psychological storyline. Slendy also seems to have a slightly different role, what with the whole hand-on-the-shoulder thing from the last video. I really like Angel's Game, mostly because the characters really seem like high school kids, bad jokes and all. It has several genuinely funny moments, though, and I think that helps the scary moments become that much more scary just by juxtaposition.

Dark Harvest is kind of a mixed bag for me. I really dig some of the scares and effects, but for the life of me I can't really care about the characters. I can't even really remember their names. Plus, the whole Snowman Slendy incident has left a bad taste in my mouth.



That's how I see it, at least. Thoughts? Arguments? Needless overreaction?

 		Yeah, I'm not going to lie, I'm not one for reading blogs too extensively. I have read JAF, Dreams in Darkness, and Seeking Truth, but I figured I'd keep this relegated to vlogs, since they're easier to compare based on similar criteria.

I suppose I could add a shit tier, although I haven't seen as many of the bad ones. I've seen 2080, which is horrible. Then there's that two part series I found a while back with Slendy portrayed as a suit hanging from a lampshade.

Also, I can't complain about your first picks except for Angel's Game (I like the storyline and production actually but the ridiculous tweets, craptastic acting and the baghead thing just killed it for me personally). MLAnderson0 and DarkHarvest00 absolutely rank way up there though and I'm sure most people would agree.

How about Marble cutboys thing?

I definitely agree with VoidCaste, your initial picks were almost perfect. Almost. Again, MLAnderson does have excellent acting and looks promising but I'm waiting for the videos themselves to liven up a bit. The webcam vlog style is okay, but I think it needs to branch away from that to truly be great. And as far as Dark Harvest goes, after seeing Log 14 I have very high hopes for this series. I think it had a rough start but it's definitely been picking up and seems to have the potential to be epic.

And, like VoidCaste, I'll have to disagree with you on Angel's Game. Personally, I think it shouldn't even be on the list. It has a good concept, but their execution is just very, very poor. They're definitely not the best actors in the world and the length and amount of their videos are ridiculously unnecessary. And I'm sorry, after watching their latest video, Broken

Personally, my opinion on Angel's Game is that yeah, it's not the best acting and it's starting to get a little widespread in a narrative sense, but it has some great moments. Them walking up to a Jeep only to find the door ripped off and their friend missing, and then being chased off by a slow-walking Slendy, was a great moment. Personally, I think the chap with the bag on his head and :> in one of the last videos was a creepy sight. Slender Man kicking the shit out of Austin was pretty sweet. The clip where I got my avatar from was a great image.

Like I said, I definitely see your complaints. But Angel's Game has some great moment, and they're really trying to bring the audience in with the facebook chat going on. I could definitely see putting it behind Dark Harvest and moving Dark Harvest up. Would that be better?
