Fallout New Vegas Poker chip puzzle?

So I was playing around with the 7 plastic poker chips that came with the fallout new vegas collectors edition and I noticed something odd. If you shine a strong light through some of them semi transparent holes are revealed. At first I thought this may have been a result of manufacturing processes but when I checked all the chips only some of them had the holes and the ones with holes had different numbers of holes.

I'll put up the chip values, the 'casino' the chip is from and the number of holes to see if anyone can spot a meaning.

$1, Vault 21, 11 holes
$5, Tops, 11 holes
$10, Atomic Wrangler, 0 holes
$20, Silver Rush, 2 holes
$25, Bison Steve, 0 holes
$50, Gomorrah, 2 holes
$100, Ultra Lux, 0 holes

I'm not sure if there is any meaning but I do think it's odd enough to look into.
