October 1 pic - enough is enough?

We've been going around in circles for over a month now. New posts keep pushing the thread up everyday but all we have so far is pure spec. Should we forget about this thing until the PM's give us an obvious hint or until the game is over?

It is important to keep the speculation and debate going about the puzzles that we do not yet understand. My vote is No.

I agree with the Thrax. In a real world scenerio if we don't figure out the clue then there are no second chances. Who knows how strict the PMs are on this.

Who knows maybe that picture holds the clue that explains the whole plot and we still don't have it.

i think that we should continue to persue it from every angle untill we run outta gas or we forget
what if it was a time-sensitive clue one that was ment for the start of the arg and we were just to brain-bramaged to figure it out

It does no harm

For those who want to keeping working that puzzle, why not allow then to discuss it somewhere? If any particular unforum reader is sick of it, they simply shouldn't read those topics.

If it's too distracting to have Oct. 1st topics in the same puzzle forum as other puzzles, perhaps we can have a new puzzle forum strictly for the Oct. 1st diehards (e.g. general updates, quick reference, interaction, puzzles, and Oct. 1st puzzle diehards).

Frustrated, yes. Defeated, no way.

I agree. I know it will always be like a splinter in my mind.

I do think that some of the discussion has become moot, but nevertheless there are still valid new ideas being thrown around here and there, such as the possible Alice Cooper idea.

I do think that all speculation should be kept in the same thread, so I would close all "other" threads about it.

I kind of agree, though, that if there was something still left to found out about that pic the PMs would do something to coax us a little bit, considering it's been there for over a month. (but you never know Mad )

I think that some day, something will happen and we'll say, "OMG! It says Alicekeleton on Caesar's T-shirt! THAT must be what the Oct. 1 picture leads to!!" And then when that happens, we'll have no post to talk about it. Sad

... of course, assuming there is a clue in there at all. Personally I'd love to forget about it: it is over a month old and despite our best efforts we've had nothing... still, hate it as I do, locking off any threads discussing it is a bit drastic. It is after all a question of choice as to what you expend your effort on here.

I agree with lots off the comments above.

You can't justify locking it when there is [humor][offtopic][spec] all over the place. As long as it stays neatly in one thread its fine. (could humor spec etc. get there own forum like puzzles and general updates?)

I personally have not looked at solving it for 2 weeks. But people should be able too if they want.

It doesn't seem to be critical to how the story flows atm. If it's real important the pm's will let us know. (They don't want all there work wasted because we can't crack it )
