The image is a so called

stereogram, and no, there are no words in it. Actually it is only one word.

So I can vaguely see a 3D image, however I've never been good at recognizing an image in these kinds of illusions unless I know what I'm looking for.

I know it's not the same, but maybe it will be helpful:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
You should see three rows of capital letters. 4 letters in the first 2 rows, 3 letters in the last one. The result is a 11-letter word.

The solution contains 8 different letters, and it has something to do with painters' point of view.
