The San Francisco Craigslist ads

I find this strange. The Austin Craigslist posts were up prior to a screening of the doc, and the map pointed to the venue that would be screening the documentary. But the map in the newer SF Craigslist ad with the contact name Lance Canhon, anagram of nonchalance, ( http://sfbay.craigslist.org/sfc/act/4530643053.html ) seems to point to a block on Pine St. between Montgomery and Sansome ( https://goo.gl/maps/rZQQc ), but the only place I find in there that might host a screening, The City Club, isn't announcing it in their calendar of events ( http://cityclubsf.com/about/calendar/ ). It could be one of those secret screenings? Anyone? Also, I don't get why the phone number's still an Austin number (512-221-5280). Maybe they just didn't want to set another up?

This ad has no map or phone number: http://sfbay.craigslist.org/sfc/ats/4531830008.html

Honestly, anybody could be posting these.

Ok - I have the following information, useful or not, here it goes.

Craigslist ad - leads to a back alley way on Pine street. Went down there last night, guys were unloading a van. Wasn't sure I should go all the way back.
Found this posted:

When I looked into the craigslist ads they had a number I could respond to:
5122215280 - Austin Texas.

Linked to the instagram - Oldmanski with a number of interesting photos referencing: Elsewhere, dolphin, porpoise, etc.

I'm sure you are all further with this, but that's what I've got.

Yeah, it really could be anyone... I would say caution is always important... then again, I'd hate to miss out on getting in on the ground floor of something awesome...

I'm going to keep an eye on all possible new points of interest - but I'm definitely in 'observe' mode at the moment - I haven't seen anything actionable...yet.

The repetition of the Austin number doesn't really make sense - unless, like someone else said, it's more of a placeholder...

This "posting" is interesting... because we are still dealing with a WORLD of unknowns - its possible there is a connection... my instincts say it doesn't quite fit - but sometimes expectations are a limiting force - I could definitely be wrong. Smile

RE: the flyer

Very interesting, but I'm going to have to say this is garden variety Bay Area weirdo. Jejune flyers were more in-depth, had interesting art or visual aids, had some sort of trail you could follow up on. I did a web search using the keywords on the flyer, and I don't get much that's been posted recently. I filtered for recent hits, and those don't seem to lead me anywhere. Will keep looking into it, though.

Maybe... Major update!
Check out E-mails I got.

Soooooo...

Someone... and by someone I mean me... Got a reply to the craigslist E-mail.(**This is the first E-mail***)

Fair warning - I am not the one (if there is 'the one') with all the answers.

I serve two purposes - one is gatekeeper: (****There was an E-mail here****)

(**This is me again

So that is E-mail one. I then asked some additional questions... Here is E-mail two.***)

I can only share my other purpose, to those who write me, mentioning it specifically...that is all I can say on that matter.

I am aware there are many questions... have patience, keep your eyes open - many wondrous things will be unfolding soon, but do not heed false prophets!

Never apologize for asking questions - even if you do not immediately gain the answers you believe you are seeking, the act of questioning will always be rewarded in one way or another, the universe sees to that.

The website is fully functional - but what is it's function? That is not for me to share at this time.

But do believe this - you have been seen, your efforts have not gone unnoticed - sometimes it takes courage to wander down alleyways that others might turn from.
(*****

So ends E-mail two Here is E-mail three

****)

This is not likely a long-term source for information - continue to search elsewhere, and by all means, share and contemplate with others.

(****)

That is the final E-mail so far...

Everything in (**) format is me writing... Hope that is clear. Maybe not?

So... What do yall think Very Happy Looks like something mysterious is afoot!

Who wants to join me? I am looking forward to this Very Happy

I made contact as well but got a very different response. Hmm. I'm not sure what to make of it now. Is this typical? Having never played before, is each step usually the same for everyone?

Campjam and thedarkone, what contact did you make? Was it via this one:

That was my feeling. My first thought on reading the CList adds was that it was someone going on the offensive, so to speak, and using the style of the Austin screening advertisements to reach out and try to get a response from the Latitude creators, rather than waiting for the breadcrumbs (which is actually a decent plan, given that creativity can often bear rewards in these things). Since it seemed pretty blatant throwing in all the hints that we've gotten so far about the Latitude into an posting, the Jejune initial posters had a direction to go and were less blatant.

Offero - yes, that's the one. I got the same gatekeeper message as dark did, but the subsequent response when I contacted the gatekeeper was short and direct. According to him, I'm waiting for contact by an agent of change. Surely other people are getting this too, no? Am I being duped?

I don't know... The first thing I did after watching The Institute was to call the director and game creator. Then start looking for bread crumbs which has turned over more clues then the calls. What the heck do I know though! Everyone goes about it differently and I hope we all find what we are looking for!
