I went to a screening of The Institute put on by the SF Obscura Society on 3/27. The responses to questions about Latitude were the same "What do you mean?" sort.

I note that The Latitude page is active again with the three fields for 4/10/4 characters, and a member tab at the bottom of the page. I have not been able to find any more information on what the code should be though.

i JUST discovered this...i live in moscow, so i guess i can't really participate? but i wanna keep an eye on this. so. cool.

edit: i was looking around on the internet for stuff about the society and i found a post from nonchalance about the selection by octavio coleman that was "for those dark horses". dark horses is ten letters. maybe that has significance to the password?

Interesting video with Uriah Findley and Sara Thacher about lessons learned from the games of nonchalance. Two comments speak to me of how they may be handling The Latitude Society. Uriah says that for their current project "Secrecy is Paramount", so I gather that this one will be very tightly held. Possibly to the extent of asking participants to keep their participation and any other details secret. The other, specifically a lesson learned, is that it is good to give the participants a place to congregate. They reference how these forums became the place for the community to discuss experiences and imply that it would be better to provide a place instead. I may be reading into this too much, but I think that means the members section of the Latitude page will have a forum like section for people to 'meet'. The upshot being that we may not find much of any info in the wild.

On a side note there is this page: https://sites.google.com/site/latitudesociety/home which is intriguing in that is has recently been created and with the same name, and has some interesting documents posted. It may be unrelated of course.

The site has been updated recently.

It's the same symbol, the password entry box has changed. it'll now take any 4, 10, and 4 characters. It also now has a link to a members' login page.

i called the number just now, but the mailbox is full.
the message says the mailbox belonging to "Pyramid Laser Energy Crystallized Atmosphere" is full.
the first letters make "PLECA" which is spanish for a vertical bar (latitude) ... i have no idea if that means anything. i'm new to this whole world and am just dying to get involved after seeing the movie "the institute."
