There's a new WeMustCollect video too.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y1Mnb4DGz88

I'm starting to think that WeMustCollect is not working for Slendy too. He's giving Stan too much information and "indirect assistance"? for him to be against him. Whatever his intentions are, it looks like he's on Stan's side. Then again, I'm probably wrong and have no idea of what I'm talking about. -_-

It's never seemed to me that WeMustCollect was ever helping Slendy--he was helping Stan.

Huh. Interesting. Of course, I have to wonder, why exactly are they being so cryptic if they want to be helpful? I mean you could just say "here's what's going on". Unless, of course, something is preventing them from being clearer. It doesn't seem like they're particularly batshit since they can communicate clearly when they want to.

Puzzles, puzzles, puzzles. I'm completely puzzled. Razz

I wondered the same thing. If anything, it's probably just the unwillingness to give information DIRECTLY in fear of Slendy killing them or something. Not sure, but... it's a thought.

The only reason why I thought WeMustCollect worked for Slendy was that, in his first 2 response videos, Slendy appeared. This new video either means that, A, he never worked for him, or B, he was not instructed to be there and Slendy found out.

I like to think that WMC isn't working for him. I have to agree with what Ithilwen22 said a while ago: That proxy has a sick hat. That hat does not deserve to be on the dark side. Shocked

You mean like this?

"Stan Frederick: What do you want from me?

We Must Collect: We want to protect you and Loretta from the evil entity known as the Slender Man.

SF: Great, what do I need to do?

WMC: It's very simple. To escape the Slender Man you just have to *whisper whisper whisper*.

SF: Awesome! Thanks, We Must Collect! Well folks, it looks like my troubles are over. Thanks for watching. I'll be shutting down my Youtube channel now.

The End"

I think that's the reason for all the puzzles. Same reason every romantic comedy gets to the 1 hour mark and everything is going great, so there has to be a silly misunderstanding between the protagonists that could easily be cleared up by a 30 second conversation in real life, but the protagonists are too stupid to just talk to each other, and so they chase each other around for 30 more minutes before everything is cleared up.

For the record, I blame Jane Austen.

I see what you do there. Very Happy

Anyways, I'd prefer a plot reason for the puzzles, but "it's in the script" works fine as well. XD

I prefer an in-game reason also. It's just that, while I have all faith that MH has an in-game reason for TTA, I don't have the same level of faith in StanFrederick. Just like I think Jane Austen has great in-story reasons for her characters acting the way they do. I just don't have the same level of faith in Nora Ephron

Wow, it looks like StanFrederick reads this board, and has responded accordingly on Twitter. Awesome.

From this latest set of tweets, it looks like WMC might be nominally in league with Slender Man, but working against him as a double agent or something.

I just read the Twitter now.
Kind of a vague response, but at least there's some kind of explanation. I'm excited to see how things go between Slendy and WeMustCollect (if it's true that they were in an allegiance and he's turning on Slendy).

Also, is WeMustCollect a human or an entity...?
He has some of Slendy's power from what I've seen in a number of videos...

Ask and ye shall receive. Very Happy

This was the most likely explanation in my mind. Does sound like WeMustCollect isn't supposed to be helping Stan.

Hmmm...seems like more and more of Slendy's agents are turning against him (through the mythos as a whole). He should work on his people skills. Wink

New entry, and a new WeMustCollect response.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
The background Slendy freaked me out. And seeing Stan act like a dick to Ben kind of makes me feel like his personality is changing.

Slendy showed up on Stan's video, but WMC did not. However in the WMC response, it looks like WMC was there too when Slendy appeared.

Which makes me wonder, does WMC have some sort of invisibility power? He jumps when Slendy appears; did Slendy see him, or is he invisible to Slendy as well?

Just some questions. I have no answers.

I probably shouldn't have, but I giggled a little when WMC jumped.

"Cryptic threatening cryptic threatening cryptic threatening psst look over there OH HI BOSS NOT GIVING OUT SUBTLE CLUES JUST THREATENING STAN CRYPTICALLY LIKE YOU TOLD ME THAT'S ALL."

On the other hand, serene seems to be the key word here. Wonder if there's a place near where Stan lives with a similar name.

(Also the immediate focus of the video is the hat. I find that a bit hilarious. WMC likes our appreciation of his headwear. Very Happy )

Edit: Left a comment on the latest video suggesting either some place with serene in its name or the park. Lazy ARGer is no longer lazy.

A commenter made a good point: The word "serene" was used in the clue, in WMC's tweet, and in his response video. That word seems important.

Congratulations; you are now an ARG celebrity. Smile
