 		Can't help with a new summary b/c I've limited my play to the Janus Archive. The trailhead post has been updated with all the PWs, sites and IG contact info etc..

There's a story-so-far summary on page 7 & Fuzzy's very good archive summary on page 8. Also http://janusarchive.wikidot.com/system:recent-changes is very useful. Am working only on things mentioned on the thread, e.g. right on the previous page: this archive's zip & another zip here

 		Regarding Maad: From what I can understand, EVERYONE'S looking for him. Louise is, I think Wallace/Spiral is, Sun's group is looking for him to use him to set a trap for Spiral, and so forth.

Ratting him out to Louise is ok, but I'm not sure about the others.

Also, I'm catching up today. I got an email from Wallace before I left that I didn't really think to put up here, it seems some of the time he cna control himself and other times Spiral is in control.

I'll post it up here later.

It would appear that it (Spiral) sleeps, not sure if sleep is the right word though.

I'm not in control all the time, when you find stuff out use your bold letters. Although from the way it speaks it is pretty obvious who is who.

You need to find Maad soon.

I... Know some things about Maad, Wallace, and if Spiral gets to him it wins.

I can't say for sure but Maad is in someone else's hands now, what you need to do is get as far away as you can for now.

Focus on helping with the Janus Archive. Its more important right now...

Found Foilhead's "pagan font" here which reading Rdown & Ldown gives the coords (37.03715 49.54313) of Qazvin-Rasht Fwy in Iran. Maybe Maad was there yet I'll take Louise at her word that he's on his way home now & we can actually proceed in some direction. @Booba: your sour grapes above made me laff like a loon. Laughing

So... Louise could not "go east" to meet up with Maad because We (with the emphasis on Me) failed to solve one of the simpler puzzles in time Sad

Makes you wonder what grand adventure we missed out on...

Moving on:
The only use for effingo that I can find is "first-person singular present indicative of effingere " which has nine letters.

If all three are clues for 496.zip we could have

"The Eight and The One." nine

"The time of effingo..." effingere

"They had increased to become..." legion

EDIT to add: Nope didn't work.

 		Ah! I leave for a few days and you guys actually make some headway! Hopefully I haven't missed all the fun.

I'm still on vacation so I can't help much. But I have two quick thoughts:

1. Could the "time of effingo" be present? It doesn't work for 496.zip, but I assumed they were unrelated anyways...

2. I don't know how you got those coordinates (nice job, btw), but do we know what to do with them? Weren't we supposed to send Maad's coordinates to one of the guides?

Once I get back (few more days), I'll jump right back in!

 		Ok! I'm back! I sent an email to the guides that basically says where we stand on everything, and I thought I'd post it here because it also contains some of my thoughts:

This translates to N43 37.03715 E87 49.54313. So...maybe the coordinates are N 37.03715 E 49.54313? Or maybe the first numbers are degrees and the second ones are minutes. I'm not sure...

Future:

We have no idea what to do on any of the pages. We are still trying to figure out the book code (I think the coordinates are (word, letter) in the titles of the books, but I'm not sure what books to use them on. And the resulting text might be a playfair cipher, using the key "AmsterdamsePoortNightmare," which makes things more confusing). And we don't know where to start for Ja647x0l...

Hopefully we can start to make some progress soon!

I responded with yes, because Foilhead seemed to indicate that 729 did exist in our world, although it hadn't until recently. I also asked a bunch of questions, which I'll post if he responds to them.

Meanwhile, all of the guides responded to my email, first stating that they could only help with their own zones, and then making some edits to my email with their comments, which I've compiled below (replies are marked off and are bolded):

And I asked Jon how I might recognize the servants (I thought he might be talking about the guides) and how I could know I could trust him and got this response:

I used the contact form on the site, not really expecting anything in return. But lo and behold, I got a response from pattiedownSPLATgmail.com:

...stones piled high? Like the standing stones in England? Could that refer to the old Druid's circle?

Also, I'm back! Again! In my defense I grossely underestimated the effects of post surgery painkillers on my tender psyche
