Nice going, amandel.

And here's a new email from Jon:
Quote:
We've had to replace the crystal in order to talk you again which why I haven't been able speak sooner.

My Baron grows impatient with my lack of progress, have you made contact with the servants of Runestaff?

They could help us in finding Hawkmoon and his traitorous band. My Baron says are there nine keys to the location of Count Brass.

The servants have skills, one of the them has the gift of foresight he will be useful in determining which path to tread, another can sort the truth from lies a very useful talent and the last is a mystery to us.

Ask the right questions and you could divine the answer that we seek.

I'm not so sure of how to respond. What do you guys think?

Hi! Just a guess: maybe Jon means Robert Carne, Louise & Wallace? Only know I'd try to first barter info with him & not give him any freebies. Twisted Evil

There's a new Missing Wallace post up that contains an encrypted conversation. I don't know what poem he is referring to, but maybe someone who worked on a past case will recognize it.

Meanwhile, we are supposed to email Louise (I have a feeling that amandel is right, and that she is one of the servants). I have to write a 10 page paper this weekend, so I'd appreciate it if someone else could do that.

key for the excrypted conversation
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Dunno what poem he means but "Bill, Archie and his Spoon" provide the Key "William Archibald Spooner" & "fondness for Eigenerv" is an anagram for Vigenére.

Quote:
W: "What has the Professor remembered?

B: "You mean about the gateway don't you?"

W: "Yes, you remember my visit to you in hospital and me asking you to steer the him away from that subject if possible."

B: "And I have, for the most part he only remembers bits and bobs. Then a few months ago he received a packet of photocopies of an ancient document, written in several different languages. When I got a closer look at it, it was obvious that pages had been overwritten several times and someone had used Photoshop to bring all different versions to light."

W: "Who sent it?"

B: "It had a short note with it saying 'This may be of use, FPS'. I asked the Professor if he knew who had sent it, he just said 'Someone dead'. He would never say anymore."

W: "I would say that FPS stands for Fred Percival Sun, he was meant to be dead. I wonder what he is trying to get out of the Professor and I bet you he knows the location of the Zone. Do you know what was written in the document did the Professor tell you?"

B: "Some of it yes, though I think the Professor kept a lot to himself I think he was trying to protect me."

B: "It described Ozymandias's kingdom, there appeared to be hints that the King had access to some colossal power. He used it to strike down his enemies, to heal the sick and to live forever. The people of his land worshiped him as a God."

W: "And it gave the land's location as being near Leng? I thought Leng was a myth or fiction created by H.P. Lovecraft."

B: "Some people say that Lovecraft's stories were in part based in fact, he always said it is easier to write fiction when you have a little fact to base it in."

W: "I hate think which bits were fact then he did not write happy stories at all."

B: "Oz's city was named in the document as Sarkomand, one of Lovecraft's stories mentions this city as being in the valley below Leng. It also said that Oz wasn't its original builder but something far older. Thing is that same story talks about Leng as a hypothetical place and the story is effectively being dreamed by Randolph Carter, seems like it is multiple fictions wrapped together."

W: "This really does not help me find Bill and the others and how this is linked to Component Theory."

B: "From what you told me about Component Theory Bill thought there was some sort of major event that happened in the past that changed effectively everything we know. Yes?"

W: "At its truly basic level yes but there has to be more to it than that."

B: "Well the document also mentions Kali and her fights against two demon-kings."

W: "I thought Kali was an Indian Goddess surely her origins are nowhere near Sumer?"

B: "Who knows? But Kali is the death aspect of the Goddess Durga who is the life giver, Durga fought a demon called Raktavija. Here is the thing that caught my attention when the Professor manged to translate part of the document relating to this fight and Oz's power, it said 'he for whom each drop of blood is a seed'. You see in the fight every drop of the demon's blood that landed on the ground a copy of the demon would appear."

W: "I do not see what you are getting?"

B: "Oz's power had something to do with blood, perhaps he access to some sort of semi divine blood."

W: "Your talking about vampires, really do not be so silly."

B: "The thing is where did the vampire myth come from in the first? I think Oz controlled his people with this blood."

W: "The whole thing is farfetched and why would the Professor consider that to be important to his field of study?"

B: "Well the Professor thought that is wasn't the blood itself but some sort of energy field and of course he thought it could be tapped as free energy. The blood was perhaps just the vehicle for the field."

W: "Still not helping in finding Bill though!"

B: "According the Janus Archive in that file that mentions 'Potency Zone Tests '61' it talks about control and some sort of eternal youth drug, that sounds a lot like what Oz had don't you think?"

W: "Are you saying what I you think saying because that is completely inhuman!"

B: "It is the only logical conclusion I'm afraid and maybe blood is indeed their vehicle which means we could track it."

W: "Foilhead said in his most recent blog about 729 buying a company called Nine Remedies, if we track the source of their supplies maybe it will track all the way back to the Zone."

W: "But it all seems a little too easy, I was wondering if what Foilhead said was perhaps misinformation probably supplied by Fred Sun."

B: "I don't think we have choice just imagine what is happening to Bill if he is actually in the Zone. The sooner we get him out the better."

W: "You are right of course, at least we have a definite direction to go in now. One other thing something I need you to do for me. Bill's solicitor gave me a single envelope recently it contained a small piece of paper the handwriting is Bill's, it says only 'British Library Legend 19'. I have not got a clue what it means, can you look into it for me. I know I can trust you with it, I think it is important."

B: "I will do my best. Looks like Mr Brown has eaten all your Jelly Babies."

W: "His keepers complain that too much sugar is bad for him, but he does not seem to mind. We had best be getting back, Louise will be worrying."

ETA: The Zone has its own 729 Wiki page http://729-inc.wikidot.com/the-zone

Good job on the decode.

Just for trivia, the full poem can be found at the wiki mentioned here:

Best I can do for 'British Library Legend 19' is this

While interesting, it does't seem to be what we're after Sad

ETA: Searching here with legend 19 brings up only one image

New under "Agent Status"

Maad spotted in Paris, awaiting orders…

Maybe the plot advances?

Also another stab at: 'British Library Legend 19'

Quote:
British Library Royal MS 19 D. i [14th century CE] (History of Alexander the Great, Druce translation): From there they went to the palace of king Xerxes. And Alexander found in this palace many marvels, and among other things he found birds of the size of doves which are called "salandres," which prophesy about a sick person, if he is going to die or not, or to live. For if it so happens that it looks at the sick man in the face, he must live, and if it turns the other way he will surely die. These birds, according to certain wise philosophers, have received this virtue from our Lord, that in looking as they do they receive into themselves the illness of the sick man. And they carry it on high to the fire which is in the air, to the fourth element which consumes all sicknesses.

Here's hoping the "Good Guys" (whoever they might be) got to Maad and the Mrs. before the "Bad Guys" (WTMB)

"Ja847u590y Archive zip.files Solves"
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
http://729-inc.wikidot.com/da put those PW protected zip files back on the radar. btw: These Years are seen back-to-front in the Janus Archive.

Year 1507 for 4sp: "Potency failures for: 1507, 1563, 1592, 1647, 1665, 1666, 1720, 1771"
Page Playfair Cipher: Second Intelligent Incursion (below is the statue of Joan of Arc at Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris.)

Year 1563 for 4bd: "1796 Potency inversion tested, mixed results."
Page Playfair Cipher: Curious insight, no incursions occurred during this period (followed by a passage from Shelley's Frankenstein)

Year 1771 for 4mp: "T h e E i g h t a n d T h e O n e r e m a i n s s t a t i c"
Page Playfair cipher: You should not bite the hand that feeds

Foilhead has a cryptogram, way to lenghty to repost, that provides the key for Ja117u0s. Looks like 3 names I've tried with no joy so hope someone has better luck.

Yay! Another one down!

Foilhead's post. Some encrypted text from "a source":

Quote:
The gateway in this zone is 'Infernal Betrayer' and main page has 'Ahh Sid' which translates to 'The Bad'. The contents of the zone seems to be mostly about ancient bad and good guys so while the 'Ahh Sid' suggests something bad perhaps the 'Infernal Betrayer' adds to clarify the picture a little bit. The key checker zip file is 496 which makes me think the password is made up of three words. Four letters, then nine letters and lastly six letters. I believe the contents to be immaterial, it's merely for you to check that you have the correct keys. I assume the keys are needed elsewhere within the archive, never assume I know but I think it is a good bet. I think we are looking for people that are betrayers or have been betrayed. The first two are obvious purely based on the number of letters. Four lettered historical twonk supposedly burnt Rome to ground in A.D. 64 not hard really. Nine lettered historical twonk the ultimate betrayer at Thermopylae. The last one six letters had me stumped for awhile, the page that translates as: ?Suetonius paid by Antony, 27 not 23, not 3,cremated quickly? drove me to distraction but all I had to do was remove what was not in evidence which reduced it to: ?Suetonius Antony 23 cremated? using this as a Google search gave some possibilities, I removed the '23' which gave me a name and Wikipedia gave me the rest and his six letter surname popped out plus the four lettered twonk had the same name. Typed it in with capital first letters and space between each word, worked and proved I was right about the data held within.

The six letter name also eludes me at the moment..

Guess which of the three Ja117u0s PW names is misspelled *sigh*
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Key is: "Nero Ephialtes Ceasar" opening a text reading: To create Chaos, first you must have order. One disappears into chaos.

Insert irony here as I bite my lil tongue off. Laughing

Great!

How is any of this useful?

EDIT: Email from JAG B26354:
Quote:
Did I ever tell you about my friend George met him whilst I was in Germany serving in S-2 using my skills as a pattern shifter although I spent most of my time with George getting drunk and chasing dames. That guy is fearless never let anyone get the better of him officers or the enlisted men, like to brag a lot too. At least it came over that way but as I discovered later there is a definite darker aspect to his nature.

George was all about exploring boundaries or perhaps should I say the next big high, he said he was trying to escape the nightmares of the war. He said in WWI you got poetry because all of the officers were posh and educated, but WWII gave heroes that just couldn't cope with the aftermath. Today of course they call it post traumatic stress syndrome back then it didn't have a name, he did generalize a lot none of his arguments ever held water. It didn't matter because no shit ever fell on George, he seemed untouchable.

When he arrived at West Point I really wasn't surprised and he hadn't changed a bit just as arrogant as ever. Told me that he had found it, a constant high I didn't believe him at first. He gave me a little taste of it and for 9 minutes I was flying high no drug I've taken since compares and believe me I've taken a few just to get that feeling back. Catch was I had leave with him almost straightaway, I sort of agreed although I said I would still have to think about. Course in the end I went with him, my disappearance is even in the history books.

I became one of the joined, ever heard of an English dude called James Lovelock? He invented the idea of Gaia, the idea being that the Earth is a self-regulating complex system of which all forms of life are a part of. Being joined it a bit like that but so much more so, gives you clarity of thought. Most of the time human minds do not work in straight lines our thoughts are quite chaotic. Once joined I had perfect concentration for whatever I was thinking about and the other added bonus was the knowledge that came flooding in, from Gaia I supposed at the time.

My fall from grace was inevitable really and happens far more than they want you to believe. When joined you don't age, thing is humanity isn't designed to live forever. Immortality's path looks straight because you only see a small portion at any one time but after forty odd years of not aging I saw the truth. The path is just a circle leading you back again and again. I voiced my opinions being the idiot that I am, of course that sort of talk is not allowed so they exiled me and gave me the stupid Janus Archive to maintain. They partially removed my connection to the joined, can't be completely removed unless I die of course. It would be like cutting off a limb for them, does happen though there are always accidents.

The Janus Archive what a joke that is, it is really just the tip of the iceberg and the authors such as they are, were definitely wearing rose-tinted glasses when they put it together. Yes it does contain one useful item once you've got all 9 keys together. 9 they do love that number.

Have you noticed I don't sound as stupid as my previous emails to you, well blame them for that. Told me to act stupid if I ever got any emails but since this is my last email ever doesn't seem much point does it?

I would love to tell you more but my emails are monitored and I do not want to you put in any more danger. George has no problem removing the deadwood.

I would stay and help but I see Wallace and Foilhead are making headway even if they think they are not.

The timer was set for 9 minutes and there is enough C4 to vaporize me should be a considerable shock to every member of the joined. Always wanted to go out with a bang, thing is I won't hear it I'll just stop. No one for miles but they will so feel it!

30 seconds...

Richard Cox.

So...that's interesting.

There's also a new Wallace blog post that explains the "British Library Legend 19" thing and some other stuff.

The home page updated with "Keys," which linked to the 729 site, and led me to:

http://729-inc.wikidot.com/keys (explains the purpose of the keys)
Which led to http://729-inc.wikidot.com/enlil
Which contains a link to http://729-inc.wikidot.com/the-zone (which I thought we already had, but I don't remember the last part being there)
And all the page tags suddenly contain "fish," which led me to http://729-inc.wikidot.com/fish
Which leads us all the way back to http://729-inc.wikidot.com/18

The Enlil page seems to imply that we need to figure something out before the 7th, and the fish page seems to imply...something.

Meanwhile, I think we've got all the keys for 7 of the 9 pages! One of the missing ones is Earth, obviously. So I guess the only thing we really have to do is figure out 595.zip on Ja647x0l...

Ok, here we go. I sent Wallace an email telling him about a bunch of stuff and got this response:
Quote:
Fuzzy,

Nice to hear from you I thought the online community had given up on helping me, not like it is the end of the world and all.

When did you find this 729 site, it looks like very interesting indeed does it contain anything useful?

As far a the shady lady from Norway (Foilhead does not like me calling her that) each of the zips in the Earth zone are linked to the other eight zones, for example: Ja2788k2103s has a zip called 15.zip. We think that the first number '1' equates to the key word in sequence ie 1st past zone has keys: Horse, Babel and Mask so the answer should be 'Horse' and to confirm that the second number '5' equates to the number of characters. Therefore 'Horse' opens 15.zip which accesses a text file with the following text: Nawyh'i. This equates to a Vignere Cypher key is: 'Jaffa Quarrel' - (15.zip) Earth's = Nawyh'i. There appears to be complete chaos as to which encryption method is used for which text although at least they stick to the same paired keywords and methods so the following is true at least so far:

Playfair key is 'Alexander Heaven'
Vignere key is: 'Hadrianus Betrayer'
Bifid key is: 'Golden Monster'
Playfair Cypher key is: 'Brandenburger Tor God'
Vignere Cypher key is 'Sungnyemun Angel'
Bifid Cypher key is: 'Torii Infernal'
Playfair Cypher key is: 'Amsterdamse Poort Nightmare'
Vignere Cypher key is: 'Jaffa Quarrel'

The lady from Norway has isolated four words that are out of in place in Nostradamus's prophecies that appear in the 8th zone:

FISH, ANIR, ICOE, HRTX

It is obviously a code but we have had no luck so far with it.

We think Ja2123u1420x: Why don't anteaters get sick? Is the 9th's zone keyword?!?

And Ja2825u2127s - Devil - Eight create the Ninth (I saw two shades frozen in a single hole) is maybe a Ubch Cypher key 'Devil something' not sure really.

Another universe? Have we not got enough on our plates at the moment, I think that can wait.

Using this information, I figured out the following:

File - Password - "Text" - "Decoded Text" (Password)
2.zip - 24 - "ps" - "is" (Hadrianus Betrayer)
16.zip - Origin - "wdplvu" - "thoery" (Alexander Heaven)
25.zip - Stone - "frsz" - "link" (Torii Infernal)
34.zip - Nero - "rq" - "of" (Amsterdamse Poort Nightmare)
15.zip - Horse - "Nawyh'i" - "Earth's" (Jaffa Quarrel)
14.zip - 1771 - "ecfyvlk" - "missing" (Sungnyemun Angel)
24.zip - Zone - "gigV" - "theX" (Brandenburger Tor God)
35.zip - ? - ?
3.zip - ? - ?

(That's kinda messy. Basically, they contain the words "is," "thoery," "link," "of," "Earth's," "missing," and "the." And we are missing 2 of them.)

We know 35.zip has something to do with 595.zip, which we haven't solved yet. Those four out of place words that Wallace mentions are from the same zone, so I bet they are very relevant. Presumably, one of the keys from 595.zip will unlock 35.zip, which will contain text that decodes as an Ubch Cipher using the key "Devil something" (probably Devil Ugolino, from http://729-inc.wikidot.com/devil). So that's all that.

And I guess Wallace is implying that the answer to "Why don't anteaters get sick?" will be the answer to something? 3.zip, maybe? Regardless, it's a joke, the answer is "Because they're full of anty-bodies."

...Is anyone else still here?

EDIT: Sent all that to Wallace, got this reply:
Quote:
You may have just saved the world!

I had intended to go the mountain in Wales to stop the firing of the transmitter but the page 'the-zone' gives:

Project Enlil Code Sequence

Backdoor auto-destruct security hole found in Arctic Ground stations potentially stop and destroy all stations. Put in place by original designer

You need to email the designer and persuade him to give us the information to destroy the ground stations.

"And the answer to "Why don't anteaters get sick?" is "Because they're full of anty-bodies." Or maybe "antibodies." Or "anti-bodies"? What is that a key to?" This is on the page: Ja2123u1420x there is a 3.zip file on it, maybe it means only 3 letters.

The words we have are: is, theory, link, of, Earth's, missing, the (x - is a Playfair cypher extra character)
Good work, would of been nice sooner if they fire it tomorrow we could all be dead. I've got Foilhead and Louise trying to jammed up their computers to slow them down."

So...hooray.

"Ant" unlocks 3.zip, leading to
Quote:
egkirohin

3rd Prophecy excerpt consolidated with previous versions in 1982:

"...the one that was sent to destroy the field, becomes lost in the sea of simulation...

...Dick is bound to the one and the Woman is just red..."

That's "evolution" with the Bifid key Golden Monster.

And I'll email JAG Dr Eldon Tyrell to ask about stopping the end of the world and all that.

EDIT2: Oh god so much stuff.

Ok, I'm pretty sure the 9 words will spell out "Earth's evolution is the missing link of *component* theory" and I've asked Wallace what that might mean.

And JAG Future's reply:
Quote:
I am curious to know who wrote that page not many people know about that.

Tell you what since you have little time I'll give you code sequence if you answer a question for me. Sounds simple doesn't it but there is always a catch.

The Janus Archive contains unrecoverable data points they were marked as URx, each zone contains one large symbol and a second smaller symbol. I think the large symbol represents a letter and the smaller symbol is maybe a number. I don't think the data is unrecoverable I think this is the data, I want to know what it says.

A lady called Amandel emailed me ages ago maybe she can help, I told her back them: "You run along little girl, think you found the answers in the future, you are so not ready for them. Chaos is the future why do think I have so little time. "

I believe she is ready now, time is indeed running out for us all.

Ok, theories -

Many of the letters either look like letters (the cross looks like a t, the skull and cross bones could be an x) or could represent a letter (the pointing hand could be a sign language g and the peace sign could be a v). I'm not sure about the plane.

As for the numbers, each image has a number as its file name (1-9), but I think that's just referring to the zone it is in. I think it is more likely referring to the number of the image on the Phaistos Disk page (left column in the list of symbols) or possibly the number of times that symbol appears.

I'm not sure how to put that all together.

EDIT3: Email from Wallace (he suggested that the words would open the-zone.zip earlier):
