dvd art is good... and the discs are numbered! you have no idea how many times I accidentally entered disc 2 first on the season 1 set.

also the shirt is a nice Charcoal color instead of a dull black.

You wanna know the only misprint I've found on the box art? It lists Disc 1 as "Entries 26-46." I'll let you figure out what's wrong with that for yourself. xD

Don't really post around here much anymore, but got my DVD today and had to gush a bit.

Overall (obviously) huge improvement over Season 1 as far as content goes. I think box-art wise, both seasons are great. The container itself... I'm indifferent. It always feels like it'd give really easily under pressure (which is why I keep my DVDs out of that case in a big-ass DVD wallet).

Good call splitting the entries between discs, keeps the compression down, therefore prettier images. Much less visible pixelation and (unintentional compression-related) distortion vs. the first season's video and sound quality.

Started with the special features on Disc 2. For the most part, loved it - the scene of them filming in the woods was great (though I'd seen that on a Let's Play they did a few months back), the Foley featurette was funny, the trailer was just ridiculous (in the best way), and the blooper reel was actually funny this time around! The Making of the Mask featurette was a bit meh... glad it was sped-up, but I suppose the creation of that prop was never something I was really intrigued by, so I ended up just skipping to the end.

Also to note (since I'm talking Disc 2) the Twitter setup this time was leaps and bounds better. Also, the menu for Disc 2 was really sharp, very creepy.

Only other thing I can really comment on is the commentary (I figure, I've seen the entries already, but the commentary was something I was looking forward to). HUGE improvement over Season 1's. I did get a kick out of their progressively drunken ramblings, but I really appreciated the insight into the production (even if it was a bit 'masturbatory' at times, their wording). Still wish the original audio was in the background dropped down, but can't really complain because I was really engaged in what they had to say. It strikes a balance between anecdotes, behind-the-scenes/making-of stories, explanations of the canon, and general funny bullshit. I'm glad they did it this way.

If Season 1's DVD was a 6/10 or maybe 7/10, I'd put Season 2 at an 8/10, leaning towards 8.5. The improved menus, better entry video/audio compression, and LABELING THE DISCS accounted for most of the increase. Also, though, I'm all about the features (particularly because it's a free web series, so I love the extras you get from a DVD) (also because I'm a film major/nerd) so the more, the better.

This was a huge leap up from S1, but I'd love to see a few more 'behind the scenes' type featurettes. For me at least, one 'making of the episode' type thing, whether for a TTA or regular entry, where someone films the making of an entry from some bullet-pointing, to rehearsals/scouting, to filming (and editing, if at all possible!). It'd be a neat insight into the hectic style of filming they mention so often in commentary and interviews, even if it's just a small glimpse.

So now that you're bored of reading my review, I guess that's it. Bring on Season 3!

one more complaint that i had was that the entries seemed to lose their contrast when put on the dvd. for example, in the hotel, jessicas room was completely pitch black as opposed to on youtube when i could see everything in her room clearly (in the commentary thye said there was supposed to be a shadow of the operator that was not able to be seen on the dvd version bc of the darkness)

but thats probably just because the dvd was using 480p instead of 720p so everything was less clear

That, mostly. Compression can really do a number on colorspace/exposure, so between the codecs' differences and the crushed frame size it probably caused the blacks to be pushed up and whites to be crushed down a bit.

so yeah after watching the bonus features again, i think it's clear that those two circles we see in all the totheark videos are supposed to be hoodys mask. they're the same shape, almost perfect circles

yeah, and i think it can be inferred that "mystery fella" was the guy whose name they cut out in the "shooting in the woods" segment

it's on the second disc, i'm not finding the exact time. they bleep out someones name saying something like "*beep* will be standing right here"

considering he was in that entry, and they clearly don't want us to know his name, i'm leaning towards "mystery fella" is either totheark or brian

Still no for me. I really hate to keep complaining but Troy said they shipped from LA. This is more bull$#!+ than grapefruits.
