good ARG but too much corporate bullshit,
also for some reason stonehenge has taken a drive to Dover and hopped a ferry to Calais in the late 20th century.
got that email too, for me to buy tickets to an American opening weekend, saw this film a week ago, it was alright.

Wow.
Can't believe Fox dropped the ball on what started as such a potentially great ARG.
Aside from the weak endgame I think the game just suffered from being ONLY focused on the Weyland/PP site without any real meta game (location drops, gatherings...etc) that really help make other games more interesting and interactive (see FlynnLives/WhySoSerious). The corporate presence is annoying as is the IE BS but then again, Why So Serious had that weird Domino's pizza party/tie-in.
I'm actually offended by my "Reward." I clicked through just to see if maybe it was for a discounted ticket. Nope.
Just because it's already out in other regions is no excuse to let the game fizzle out into a death spiral.
I'll be seeing it tomorrow regardless.

I nearly laughed out loud when I got the Weyland email today. I was a sucker and saw it at 12:01 AM, so I apparently got in before the "premiere".
Without spoiling anything, I will say that going through the viral / ARG / promo stuff over the past couple of months did allow me to enjoy some of the subtleties of the movie. Including one moment where I wanted to facepalm.
It feels a little ironic that I spent all this time chasing the ARG for nothing but information, but I got a free poster for going to the midnight IMAX show.

The days of decent ARGS (and Swag!) seem long gone.

http://www.whatis101112.com/ seems to be the way forward but it has already hit a little roadblock. The source for the site does say The next phase of Project Prometheus is coming...
I don't know how to move on but what else is new : ?
edit: never got any swag I haven't had to pay for

The days of decent ARGs weren't about swag, btw... swag was a bonus. It was about the ARG, and great experiences; those were the rewards. This excessive reliance on swag (from creators thinking it's needed to keep fans attentive, or from fans who just want free stuff) has changed expectations and killed a lot of the effort to actually create quality, memorable experiences...

Guys saw the movie was pretty good the ARG was able not to spoil but rather allow me to understand and comprehend the film better was well done.
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Now if there was some kinda prize like the containers that we opened then inside was a see through container housing a "FaceHugger" , Now that would be sick but ohwellz
Also as for the last dead link on the site who else thinks it might have to do with www.whatis101112.com or a curtain amount of time that passes SDCC2012 is coming up

The Theme works on a lot of levels... After seeing the movie, and following this alleged ARG, I am left with an interesting thought.
Perhaps the ARG was haphazard, riddled with technical glitches, and underwhelming on purpose.
If you expect too much from something... a good ARG... a long-anticipated movie... your "god"...
... you are going to be disappointed.

Was posted on the Prometheus twitter feed. I have to say (along with a lot of other people on here), I was disappointed by this ARG; mainly because a lot of the tie-in sites etc. were so well crafted and well written...
