 		Hey, I just remembered something I read this morning. Prometheus is supposed to have its plot inspired by Eric von Daniken's (i have no clue how to spell his name) ancient astronaut theory. I've noticed we've been focusing one greco-roman mythology, but von Daniken's theory has roots in ancient Sumeria and Indian mythology. Have we paid them proper consideration?

No, but they do get it a week ahead of America.

Fair comment Very Happy It's just easier sometimes in a working environment, to just keep the one window open and keep checking now and then when they have time, rather than sit and search....really shouldn;t be on here in work anyway but hey, im excited!

Just to add also not relating to my telling off... Embarassed

also found that prometheus bound was the 7th tradegy written by greek tradgeian Aeschylus, found here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aeschylus
Which is the first of a trilogy called http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prometheia
which includes three seperate stories describing Prometheus' story.

Also ripley mentioned the crew of the nostromo as 7 little indians.

Download the file. Open it in GIMP. I've rotated and scaled (With inverted colours as best I could) to match them up. Perhaps you'll see something I couldn't.

Lindelof has a way to lead fans that he did plenty of times while LOST was airing and those podcasts (I was a huge fan of the series, still am I suppose), which is putting himself in the role of the fan and "asking questions to himself". Notice he said "If I could ask a question about the movie that wouldn't ruin it for me, I'd ask who this Guy Pearce is?".
This might also be a clue for us playing the ARG, even though he said we're smart enough to figure it out (even though there's barely anything to follow a lead), since Peter Weyland in the TED Talk talked about Prometheus' myth and the tone he used was curious:

He pretty much justified the theft and condemned the punishment inflicted by the Gods through the Eagle (which is also said to carry Zeus' thunderbolts and misc orders from him), so there might be something with this theme circling around the Project Prometheus. It might not just be the Eagle, but something related to it, in a way to show they're superior to the Gods and the punishment, since Weyland isn't at all oblivious to the myth.

Think "Titanic", it's what I'm trying to describe here. The big, "unsinkable" boat that sank in its first trip.

OK, following this line of thinking, what if its not the eagle or Prometheus but the rock he is chained to we need to focus on. We already have the fire from Prometheus so now we go to the planet and free him.

This puts the TED speech as the first part of the Greek Prometheus story and the movie will explain how he is freed. So maybe we should focus on the part of the myth of the killing of the eagle and freeing of the Titan Prometheus.


Here how I am breaking this down,

We know the SJ is stuck in the star room(the rock) and when the humans come he is awoken/released . We know from the trailer we see the derelict(Eagle) take off and the ship Prometheus(Arrow) shoots/crashes into it to bring it down.

This is all I can come up with at the moment.

I'm just wondering if this whole projectprometheus site isn't the one that we wil log on as investors in the future?

Source code for the first page (without login form) is:

I like where you're going with this but the bit that doesn't work for me is Prometheus being used as the arrow. Confused

I ran the LOSTARG's blog and a few others before that for the various LOST off air activities.
And we know he's not adverse to his shows having complicated, official ARGs based on them. Nice to know. Smile
