Did anyone else just get an email from Emily?
Quote:
Dear Kevin,
I'm sending this internally because I'm worried about my gmail being compromised. Please do me a huge favor and send me the files from my Z drive. Just put them in my Drop Box and delete them from my office computer. You're the only one there that I trust to do so.
I don't have a lot of information for you yet, but you can always check my blog for updates.
-Emily
Oh, and the members page is full of our beautiful faces now!

Yeah, she talks about a Blog. Has to be an outside one that is viewable on the web.
I looked up Coralton College and all I get is a MySpace page. Which I doubt is to do with this, it wouldn't be locked if its a Blog.
Any ideas? We need to find a URL

I had signed up and got the email. I was thinking of sending this back if that's what we're supposed to do. What do you guys think?
Quote:
Dear Emily,
We've had some technical problems over here for a time, but I'll get that done for you ASAP. This is just a minor note, but it seems the link to your blog that I had is lost because of said technical difficulties. Can you send it to me again?
Thanks!
-Kevin
Without knowing their relation to each other I'm not sure how formal I should be. I'll send it if you guys think it's good.
Also a quick google search for a dropbox account turned up nada.

Okay I'll send it on it's way. Let's hope because the email was routed to the same adress that in-game logic won't show my address. Heh. That would be kinda a giveaway.
Ah, just as I thought:
Quote:
Why in the world would Emily respond to an unfamiliar outside email address?
So yeah. Don't think responding will be in the cards right now for me.
EDIT: Sent my response to the first task a little late on the ball, but I did get this back:
Quote:
Thank you for your submission! Of course it's not too late! We are currently in the process of updating the website and sending out the Level One tasks.
So yeah.
EDIT 2: Um. Tad bit confused on this point. I sent an email back saying I wasn't sure since the email was looped from the address and got this back.
Quote:
No problem! Is there something I can help you with?
(Hm. I'm wondering if there's a blur between IG and OOG there.)
EDIT 3: Deary, me spamming my editing here:
Quote:
Perhaps you would like to make the first move?
Titled: Would you like to play a game?
EDIT 4: I feel this is going to get long.
Quote:
Wonderful! What is your opening move?
Um. I wonder if we're supposed to be playing chess or something.

Oh hey, I tried something similar. Initially I just asked what was going on, but then I got a response asking what I was looking for from someone identifying themselves as "A member of the ETQ design team." I said that I was a friend of Emily and that I needed to talk to Kevin. The most recent response:
Quote:
This is Kevin. What's your opening move?
I was initially going to ask him for the blog url, but now it looks like I'm supposed to be doing something else. Any thoughts on how I should respond?
EDIT: Whoops, sorry. Didn't see your most recent edits there, cherrytree. Chess was my first thought too.

@FuzzyGoodle: That's fine.
I emailed back to the "Can I help you with something?" with saying "IF I could get the blog URL that would be extremely handy, but I doubt you can, can you?"
And I emailed back about what game we're playing before I make the opening move.
EDIT:
Response:
Quote:
That fact that chess is your first guess increases my respect for you immensely. However, I am open to suggestion. What would you like to play?
Then chess it is. *Crack out chess set so he can see how the game's going*
I wonder if this is supposed to be our first task? Well let's hope the PM isn't that good of a player. I consider myself a pretty good player, but yeah.
EDIT 2:
Well that was a set up.
Quote:
Ok, you have proven yourself a worthy and intelligent opponent. I have a better idea. Let's play hangman! I'll give you the first letter, in honor of your opening chess move.
E _ _ _ _
_ _ _ E _
_ _ _ E _
Your move!
I'm going to update the below quote with the new letters. If you have a suggested letter then speak up!
Quote:
E M I L Y
_ _ _ E _
_ A _ E _
Also blue lines pop up at the bottom. Not sure what to think about them.
Whaat. I only got one word down. (I guessed Emily on the first one by chance.) Not sure what the others might be.
Two more letters. Yikes!
Level one email sent:

Seems we have to play an ancient egyptian game. Though there are no real known rules for it. So I've asked for a bit of clarification.
Quote:
Level One: Ancient Games
Level One Introduction:
We will begin with an ancient Egyptian board game.
In order to continue on in Level One, you need to do the following:
Email the name of this game to infoSPLAT entertheequest.com
Choose a square and assign an action to that square (Each player must choose a different square and action)
I think you'll need to view the webpage for the board.

Yikes, the Egyptian game is Senet. The original rules are lost tho these are accepted ones
Have emailed the game name & chose square one to move "one" forward (as a guess). Maybe the hangman was EMILY LOVES GAMES?

Huh...I wonder what this is going to be used for?
Anyways, I have claimed the 4th square on the second row, with the action "if a piece lands on this square, it jumps forward 2 spaces" (assuming that is what action refers to).

Sorry Amandel I took the first square I'm guessing before you emailed. So if I emailed ahead of you I stole it from you. I had looked at those rules you mentioned, but those rules would only work with two players correct?
Well either way I'm awaiting an email on clarification and sent my last letter in for the hangman game in. So I'm just waiting on the responses.
Well the hangman is not EMILY LOVES GAMES.
Decoded so far was EMILY _ _ _ ER _A_ER
but that was the end of the game for me.

No worries, cherrytree. Have claimed square two now with the same action (anyone can move forward one).

Well we'll see how it goes then. I think I actually messed up with the game name on the first try. So who knows how this will go. I resent the email just in case.

How to play Senet and email responses..... Well I was doing some analyzing of the game Senet and here is a website which I think will be able to help us: http://www.all-about-egypt.com/senet.html
So this is what I sent in response to them: The game is called Senet. I will choose square 2 and my action is move 2 squares to the right
I also sent an email saying this from the first email we recieved from Emily: Emily- This isn't kevin. My name is Melissa and I would like to help you. I'm afraid I don't have your blog site. You can trust me. Could you please send it to me in order to get the updates correctly? Thanks!
Hopefully we'll get some hit?
