I, admittedly, found Marble Hornets from the Slender game. Shame on me I guess

But you understand what Marble Hornets is now. All is forgiven. Wink

I've posted this before (as we do have a "How did you find Marble Hornets?" thread somewhere), but my first entry into this series was in October 2010, when a friend of mine started telling me about how Slender Man started on SA.

My exact reaction was pretty much like, "this has been going on for how long and you never told me before?!"

Twistedpuppet, I'm somehow guessing that you aren't very familiar with this particular pasta. I understand perfectly if you recognized the intended humor in the discussion of the pasta and simply didn't find it funny, but something tells me you don't even understand why it was intended to be funny. Short version- discussing it as though it were real is a bit of a running joke with this pasta's fans due to the format of the original story and the nature of the twist. Bonus points if the original twist is recreated or implied in said discussion, as was attempted in this thread.

No, I know what the creepy pasta is and I've listened to MrCreepyPasta read through several sequels of it. I just wanted to know why, knowing that those are just creepypastas, are we now discussing them like they are real. For some reason, this kind of humor doesn't appeal to me. It annoys me.

Also @Serum, I found something better to bide my time in between entries. I just go find something else to do, such as read reddit and rage at the people in the ffxiv subreddit for turning the game's community into another league of legends. Also, porn. I'm just going to state that bluntly. Porn has a way of keeping one very entertained in between entries.

Also, Agents of S.H.E.I.L.D. :V

Bet you it's not as big as the prick that created the Majora's Mask creepy pasta about that BEN entity. That guy is a colossal douche.

What was the worst movie you've seen this year? And most unintentionally funny trailer of the year?

For me, This Is The End was the worst. I didn't really know anything about it other then it being an apocylaptic comedy of sorts - and I just hated it from start to finish. To see actors in thier thirties effectivily act like teenage boys was just cringeworthy and apparently to be a grown up and to own responsibility for your actions makes you a 'pansy' (not a word I'm endevoured with, but defiently what they were going with in the Heaven scene)

And the whole Lindsay Lohan joke? (The default reaction is NOT "Heavy shit, bro", it's..."I kind of want to not even be anywhere near you, bro") So, basically he felt bad about...raping her? But, it wasn't...because of....reasons?

I'm also sure that a whole lot of male rape surrivors felt ectastic about the near end of the movie as well when men being raped was played up for laughs...and let's just not talk about how the worst of humanity degenerates into homosexuality....ugh.

Okay, lighter topics, but the most unintentionally funny trailer for me was White House Down. Because a guy being unqualified or unsuited to a job is completly like a black man being presdient! There underdogs, man, there underdogs! Ugh...what?

No. I talked to the guy on twitter. I had called him out for fear mongering around the time of that tragic fertilizer plant explosion. He was spouting off conspiracies about a terrorist attack before any information was even being reported on local TV stations in the area of the plant. He's never been to either of the conventions I go to. But the Marble Hornets guys have! Very Happy I got Troy, Joseph, Tim, and Brian to sign my convention badge. Smile

To join in the finding Marble Hornets thing, I first heard about Slender Man from my girlfriend. I looked into it and so many people were talking about him like he was a real paranormal entity, I got kinda spooked. Later I watched Introduction and the first two entries, as well as "Alex gets a birthday surprise" on two separate occasions. I apparently didn't piece together they were the same thing, which is a shame, since I didn't watch past Entry #2 because of how it wasn't really offering anything beyond "This guy I know kept seeing a creepy tall thing on these tapes I have" but #26 was very interesting. If only Season 1 had as a captivating a start as Season 2 and 3. Anyway, after Slender came out, I gave MH another shot and caught up with it in 2 days. A couple of days later, Entry #63 came out.

This Is The End was the funniest movie all summer. I mean, if you aren't the kind of person to get fucked up and just enjoy life for what it is, I can see you hating it. But it was pretty funny, especially if you've seen the other movies those actors have been in, since there are a lot of sort of, uh, well not really in jokes, but hmm. I dunno it seemed they were kind of all making fun of themselves and how they get type cast and stuff. Michael Cera's part is fucking hysterical. I mean I can see why someone might dislike the movie, but I would guess that if you didn't like that movie, you probably hate Seth Rogan, Franco, Jonah Hill and the lot anyway, which begs the question of why you would see it in the first place.

Also if you've never smoked weed, I don't think you're gonna find Seth Rogan's writing funny most of the time. He's kind of a massive stoner and makes no effort to hide or apologize for it. Not gonna promote drug use or whatever haha but that's pretty much public knowledge... Pineapple Express anyone?

Imagine if a whole bunch of people from the forums were there and all standing in the same place awkwardly because they don't know one another.

Nah. It's a convention. You find shit to do. Smile It's all about meeting people. The hell with awkwardness. You come, you go to some panels, play some games (digital or analog), and you have a good time. And maybe you even meet the guys that make your favorite slenderman series. Razz

Intresting, I stumbled upon this: it's a radio drama in the UK in which listeners can write it in and affect the outcome:
