Aww. That disappoints me. Their THAC content doesn't really tickle my fancy.

Idk I could be wrong, but I think they said at one point they wanted to do more comedy after MH ends, but that could always change. Maybe they'll do some heart-wrenching drama :p

I do recall reading something quite recently about one of the trio saying that they were thinking of something more suspense. These could always be funny, too. (I think some of MH wouldn't have worked if they weren't adept at comedy--particularly all the deadpan caustic commenting).

Based on their previous comments, comedy is what they really want to do. Marble Hornets itself was kind of a spur-of-the-moment thing when they discovered the Slender Man photos on Something Awful.

I don't see why they couldn't do something both suspenseful and humorous. I think they'd pull it off well.

Incredibly delayed do to vacation, but thanks Smile

Gotta plug the artist's deviant art, http://foxinshadow.deviantart.com/gallery/, does a lot more then pony stuff.

Back on topic (in the off topic thread) suspenseful humor is what they do best. My favorite entries all have the subtle humor they're so good at. Like the battery powered beats. I could definitely see them doing something like that, but they won't do another just horror/suspense series.

While I like their comedy videos, I do think it could be cool if they did something that was neither horror nor comedy- more just a character-driven drama. The occasional moments of such things in MH tended to be pretty neat when they happened.

Oh right, like Tim confronting Jay in the parking lot? They are really good at that kind of stuff as well, though even if I want it, I couldn't see them doing it. They can hardly stay focused long enough to pump out horror stuff, I'd hate to see them try and pay attention to a drama.

I think that if they had something planned out meticulously from the start, they could get a couple of good seasons of a drama. Especially if it were one of those dramas (or "dramadies") that sacrificed internal continuity for focus on the main characters and their lives (this is usually done more in comedies such as Louie, where the main character is always the same and the show happens in the same universe, but the universe's internal rules of operation shift according to the plot and theme of a particular episode). If they weren't doing a serial with puzzles and a mystery driving the whole thing but had a sort of emotional anchor or an overall mood providing consistency, then it could work pretty well.

Not just the parking lot scene, but the tension between Tim and Jay from Entry #53 all the way up to Entry #64, particularly the hostility when Tim queries Jay about always pointing a camera at others or when Tim keeps distance between himself and Jay as they hunt for the shack and the tunnel in Rosswood Park. You can tell the characters are working together only because of mutual need, and even when they try to overcome that they can't let go of their mutual mistrust, up till when Tim meets with Jay in Entry #65. It's very well done, and the dialogue, while perfect, isn't the only thing that drives it. The actors are perfectly in sync with each other and their environment. I'd love to see more of that no matter what the subject matter of their next big project is.

Yeah, I was thinking especially of both Jay & Tim in the parking lot as well as Jay & Alex in the parking lot in S2 (parking lots and MH seem to make for good scenes.) And Jay finding that Tim was hiding the tape and their confrontation a couple of entries later were also both moments I liked.

Oh, and worth noting regarding their staying focused- dramas aren't the same as mysteries necessarily. They could do something more minimalist which requires neither the difficult filming that entries like 83 involve nor the worrying about every detail and bit of foreshadowing etc. (not to say they shouldn't pay attention to detail but there'd be less important details to keep track of by the very nature of the show.) Basically, it would be neat to see something which focuses on the writing and characterization (like some of the entries mentioned above) rather than the filmmaking (like much of MH aside from those entries.) Not that they can't necessarily do both...

Also, they are seeing MH through to its conclusion, and in a less suspense-driven series (especially one which isn't supposed to be taking place in real-time) I think that us viewers wouldn't mind the wait times quite so much.

Honestly, I think the only reason the wait times seem so much more excruciating is because the series started as more of an ARE/ARG unfolding in more or less real time. IG, if that had been maintained, it should be, what, early 2013 right now?

As much as I love the guys and enjoy all their work, I think they won't be getting the same kind of attention that MH gets unless there is some form of mystery in their new series to discuss.

I mean, good god... the entirety of MH was like the "dance of the seven veils", except instead of seven there were three-thousand and forty-two veils and each time they removed a veil it revealed 5 more veils.

The more we can present our own theories, the more we can discuss and argue them with others, the more wrapped up we become with the series. It becomes a bit of a personal investment.

Although I really like their comedy (my faves are the more dark and surreal THAC videos) I just don't see it generating much discussion.
