Rocky.

The lady from the antique store.

Is Rocky? Fuck. Didn't know that arc would be such a curve.

I don't really remember that. I'm fine with KH1 Guard. I've actually gone through over half of the game just whacking attacks with my own.

Yeah I sometimes did that, but more out of chance than anything. Except against Wakka on Destiny Islands, that was the best way to train there, deflecting the balls back. But I got pretty good at being able to dodge roll out of an attack than try and block it, which is also useful against unblockable attacks, such as Rikku's dark magic and stuff.

Glide at maximum level? That was sort of a nice addition. By that point in the game, I'm obviously using Glide because walking is beneath me, I don't want to land.

I believe it was faster, well at least it felt faster than walking/running for me. Hopefully they keep that for KHIII

Rocky.

See I know that Rocky is Alex's dog but when I read that I just imagined Tim pulling off the Mask in Entry #83 to reveal a dishevelled Stellone panting "IH WUS WURD IDH"

Guard: This, again, comes down to my beginning-of-game selection. I didn't get Dodge Roll & Guard until the 30's, & I didn't want to unequip things to equip them. So I only got them both installed a couple of levels ago. I didn't get Scan until Level 20 or something, either, so I fought several bosses without knowing what the Hell was going on.

Glide: In I, Glide is a bit slower than running, while Superglide is way faster. In II, Glide was a lot faster, at least at the higher levels.

In KHI you get dodge roll after you meet with Donald and Goofy. If you were lv 30 then, you must of trained hard. I guess it is personal preference, it's just everyone I know irl who play it always stick with dodge roll over guard because by the time they get guard they have had dodge roll for a while and are used to it.

Yeah Superglide in KHI is way faster.

The levels at which you learn abilities vary depending on what you pick at the start. The Sword & Shield learn Dodge Roll early on, but the Staff learns it later.

I'm actually leveling up slowly right now, because I answered the opening questions so that I would level up slowly at start & faster later on. I was in Atlantica by the time I hit the 30's. If memory serves, I'm now around 45, doing a bunch of side quests before I go to Hollow Bastion for the first time.

I've always equipped both Dodge Roll & Guard. I think I generally prefer Dodge Roll, but taking the risk to guard can yield nice rewards. Like I recently discovered that I can deflect Cloud's blade while he's charging all over the place like an asshole. Oh yeah, & Tech Points, which have proven invaluable to help me close the gaps between levels.

Yeah, but I believe roll is given to you no matter what level you are, just after you beat Guard Armour the first time, Donald and Goofy give it to you. Yeah, I always pick my day starting at midnight so I can get to higher levels easier later on

Looks like you're right. Maybe it was just a long time before I could equip it, then.

This is the first time I've tried it this way.

Oh yeah, I always equip dodge roll asap, as I can't live without it. I usually unequip another ability to equip it if I need to
