I'm not sure how to react at that. I'm mostly in the hate trend towards the Slenderman games and their new superficial popularity, but I can be objective... and still don't know how to react to this.

Just because the fans were stupid doesn't mean you should hate the game. I haven't looked at any of the knock-off games, but the first Slender really was quite good. This upcoming one has a lot of potential, so I'm definitely looking forward to it.

That's exactly what I tried to mean, so I'll just keep my mind open. Hope this game doesn't slow any entries.

You guys seen the screenshots? This game looks amazing. The Slenderman model looks so much better.

I just had a little bit of a geek-gasm...

This day has been awesome (yesterday? Damned Eastern Time..). I finally found my motivation for my 3D Modeling classes, Rush announced their AMAZING-looking new remastered box-set for 2112, there were awesome new episodes of MLP and TheRunawayGuys, it was comically revealed that Chuggaaconroy has the biggest pony collection out of anyone in existence (which also coincided with one of the most hilariously, gloriously cluster-fucked youtube comments section to ever exist in the history of everything), and to top it all off, we have THIS...

I'm now extremely hyped for The Arrival. It just moved up to fourth on my "hype-list", right behind Star Citizen, Bioshock: Infinite, and Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs.

This is awesome. Slender is a nice simple game, but I can't stand the misinformed "fandom" it spawned. Y'know, all the people who haven't heard of Marble Hornets or any of the background info Victor Surge wrote. Giving the new Slender game a real story means that the fans will actually learn something about the mythos. And it also gives the MH guys the credit they deserve for inspiring most aspects of that game.

I haven't heard about the Slender fanbase before. Is it really that bad?

The detail of them calling the Slender Man "Slender" just because they saw it on the game does not amuse me. Nor that they don't read any back story or anything. But what really drove me insane once was that when I told the guy to stop calling him like that (it was really annoying and used to do it all the time) he didn't want to budge, saying "it was shorter" to call him Slender. No, no, it didn't had anything to do with him having just played the game and nothing more, sure no.

In my country, at least, everyone knows "Slender" now (the character, not the game). The fandumb is so dense and terrible that I'm happy to have found just one or two persons out there who not only knew MH from before, but also does not behave like the rest.

I remember one of my facebook friends commenting on someone's drawing or something, saying it looked like "the Slender papers."

And I'm thinking to myself, "you mean the papers from Marble Hornets?" Because that's what they're from.

Oh, you mean like how everyone here calls the Operator, "TO"? Wink

I agree. It's cool that the game introduced more people into the mythos, but it annoys me when people don't know where it came from, since the mythos weren't that obscure to begin with.

I haven't actually played the game as I'm saving for a new computer so I can download it on that. The Arrival sounds really good, so now I'm totally hyped.

Or how everyone within the actual mythos refers to him as "Slendy"?

Or how most of the blogs and vlogs come up with different names for him?

Razz

To throw in my two measly cents, I don't really care what they call him as long as they give credit where credit's due. A Slendy by any other name is just as scary. XD

This isn't about not naming him with it's full name. TO is just an abbreviation, Slendy a fan nickname.

It's about not even knowing what the hell are you talking about. It's like proclaming yourself a Dexter fan and saying that Debra is called Lee Lee just because you don't even care about knowing the names of the characters. It's OK, you don't wanna learn them, that's fine. But don't call yourself a fan or play it all like you love the mythos when you haven't even read a blog or watched a full series. That's the kind of fandumb I'm refering to.
